Watching this game, neither team is impressive. Davidson is awful other than Curry...and he hasn't been very good so far (hope his ankle issue doesn't linger too long because he can be a great show in the tourney).

The game looks like a sloppy pick-up game. Butler's winning 54-42 with 12 minutes left in the game, but they would probably be getting drilled if they weren't benefitting from a terrible Davidson performance. I'm just hoping to see it start raining threes from here on out.

A xavier/davidson matchup!

Curry would probably kill us.

hmmm, im not seeing it that way. Butler is just a better overall team. They play very solid fundamental ball. A very well coached team. Even though the announcer says Stephen Curry's ankle hasn't been bothering him today I think it has to be. Just not the same pep in his step. And everyone seems to forget Davidson lost one of the better point guards in the country from last year. So unless Curry plays great every game they are going to have troubles against solid opposition.

I think the "Bracket Buster" is a fraud and a conspiracy. Every year, they build this up as a mid-majors "perfect" chance to build their resume for the tourney. Is that true...yes.

But at the same time, they are limiting the mid-major conferences from getting more bids because half of the teams lose as well. It's basically saying "this is our secret way of eliminating mid-majors from consideration from the tourney" because they lost the bracket buster.

If they really wanted to give the mid-majors a boost, they would schedule tem against teams that are likely to make the tournament allowing them to truly show they belong.

In addition to that, the mid-majors that actually do make the tournament end up playing each other in the first or second rounds anyway.

They make this out to be such a special event, but in reality, it just eliminates more mid-majors from consideration than it does help them get teams in.

They just showed a graphic entitled, "most wins the past three seasons by non-bcs teams." Memphis was first with 94, then Butler with 81 and Davidson with 80.

I figured we couldn't be far behind Butler and Davidson and we aren't. We've had 76 wins in that time period.

They also just said Butler doesn't have any seniors on the team. That surprised me. That will be a very tough game next year in Hinkle and I plan on being there.

It's easy to see why Davidson beat X. They do all the things winning tournament teams do and do them consistently.
Damn, they defend. And they shoot free throws. Do they ever. But the most impressive thing is their rebounding. Couldn't count the number of offensive boards they got .
The Howard kid is only a freshman and the whole damn team is very young, too young to know they're not supposed to be that good.
I wasn't impressed by Davidson. Their home floor in nationally TV'd game? You kidding me. That team has one major problem. They depend too much on Curry.:D

Did anybody hear the part during this game where they talked about what Cronin said about Syracuse and the A10?...I think it was this game, but I watched a few this morning so it may have been another.

Anyway, they brought up what he said and how it was clearly a jab at Sean Miller. Whoever the color guy was then said something to the effect of "How can he say something like that when Xavier came into their place and beat them by 10? I think the vertically challenged leader at Cincinnati needs to think about what he's saying."

awesome.

I'm still carious why he would make such a comment. Maybe I'm giving him too much credit, but I think he said that to rally some support from the apathetic UC basketball fan base. Also, complimenting a team you play in the future is an old coaches trick to soften them up.
