Talk about hitting the wall.

And I thought the stock market dropped like a rock. Look out below.

Butler has a bunch of freshmen. They aren't used to a season this long since nothing in high school goes past 24-25 games. They also shoot a lot of threes and are not very deep. They have one good big man in Howard. Cut him off and make them make 3's.

Not-re Dame was vastly overpimped by the Big Greased media. They beat Teaxs. Wow. That win ain't so good now. They shoot a lot of threes and are not very deep. They have one good big man in Harangody. Cut him off and make them make 3's.

Here's the deal. When you are not very deep, your main guys have to play lots of minutes. When you need to make a lot of 3's to win, at this point in the year, the legs aren't as strong, hence 3's are missed. The other team then just doubles your big guy to keep him under control.

Butler and Not-re Dame have big trouble. Butler will make the tournament out of their resume. Not-re Dame equals No Dance. Sorry Stoney.

Kenny Frease made the right choice. Sean playing 9 guys all year makes a huge difference now.

How big is the Butler-Davidson game this weekend?

Butler is still a pretty safe at-large. Lunardi had them as a 7-seed in the 2/16 bracketology (after the Loyala loss and before the UWM loss), but they could really use this win to lock up a single-digit seed and to regain some confidende.

Davidson, on the other hand, could be in some trouble. Lunardi projectem them as a 9-seed before their lose at home to the Citadel. They lost that game without Curry, but I still think it's going to be considered a bad loss - losing by 18 at home to the Citadel is bad with or without Curry.

Plus, Davidson's case as an at-large is pretty weak. They are 21-5 (15-2), #56 RPI, and #143 SOS. They have only played 5 top-100 teams and are 2-3 in those games with wins against WVU (#15) and NC St (#88) and losses against Oklahoma (#2), Duke (#5), and Purdue (#20).

I think Davidson must beat Butler at home on Saturday to have any shot at an at-large. Curry will be a game-time decision for the Butler game.

I'm worried about our own house at the moment. I haven't had much time to consider the resumes of Notre Dame or Butler. I still think Butler gets in (even if they didn't win their conference tourney), but not with another regular season loss and a conference tourney exit.

X has some tough games ahead yet (UD in the regular season and a conference tournament tilt where everyone will be gunning for us).

Davidson definitely needs that game, and I think Butler gets up for it knowing that. I think Davidson is a fraud and obviously their hype is caused by having one player. Having one of the best players in the country should not automatically make you a tournament team. They play some good teams but they never beat them. They are a creation of ESPN and I think they are going to have to win their conference tourney to get in.

Davidson is fine. Once Curry is healthy no SoCon team will get within 10 points of them. So they might have to win the SoCon Tournament, but they will.

Well, they did lose at home to Charleston a few weeks ago with a healthy Curry (who shot 7-22 and played all 40 minutes), so I don't think its a given that they will just roll through the rest of the conference.

That made them 43-1 over their last 44 SoCon games. I don't see that happening again soon with a healthy Curry.

I want Davidson to win this game. If they lose and are forced to win the SOCON tourney to get in (which they will), they'd be looking at a 13 seed.

Since it looks like a 4 seed is a good possibility for us, I do NOT want to play Davidson compared to the other 13s.
