Anybody play the college football game, and is it easy for a 30 something to play?

Congrats on the Wii. I just got one from the wife for Valentine's day. Unfortunately I can't give you any game advice yet.

The Wii is great for the games that are made for it like the Mario games or Wii Fit/Play/Sports. The other ones I don't really like on it as much and prefer to play on my PS3. The Wii is great for when people are over or if you just want to pick it up and play for only 15-30 minutes.

Don't have football but it sounds like a fun game. Just got done playing mario cart with my daughter - that's a fun game. The only other one I have is the wii fit - I did a lot at first but I've slacked off lately. It's not bad but I've heard there are better games for the fit that give you a better workout if that's what you're looking for. Also heard Tiger Woods is fun on the wii.

We called around, and NOBODY has the Fit in stock. So...of course my wife orders it online. This crap is getting expensive! Pretty cool though, and the family is all together instead of being in separate rooms and tvs.

We've only played a few. My husband likes baseball (part of Wii sports), Mario Cart and Mario Super Smash Brothers. I've enjoyed some of the random generic games like cow racing and boxing. Guitar hero is terribly addictive. I didn't really enjoy the guitar only version but love the drums in the full band version.

The family seems to like baseball thus far, and the little one loves boxing. It's strange having everyone together all the time. LOL

Tiger Woods golf is awesome. Don't play it for too long, though, or you will cause yourself some shoulder problems. Same for Wii Tennis :)
If you just got a Wii and need another controller, I recommend you get Wii Play. It's a $50 game, but it comes with a remote, and those cost $35 or $40. Wii Play is a bunch of mini-games: there's a fishing game, a laser hockey game, and a Duck Hunt-like game. The game itself is not worth the $50, but the fact that you get a controller with it basically means you are getting a $10 game with your $40 controller. That's worth the price.

My wife just got one for her birthday. It is awesome. Mario Kart is awesome.
I don't understand how people are getting hurt using the Wii though. Is it just people who are terribly out of shape, or what?

Well, I'm out of shape. So far so good though. I'm trying to play with both hands, so I don't strain one too much, or ignore the possible conditioning of the other.

I just got a Wii for Christmas. Remember its the video game system for those that typically don't buy video game systems.
Wii Sports (which has the tennis, baseball, boxing, bowling and golf) is a great free pack in game. They may not be full featured games, but there is enough there to keep it interesting, and perhaps more importantly they are very approachable to houseguests, some of whom have never even heard of a Wii. Bowling springs instantly to mind for this. And if you look there are even some nice unlockable minigames, 91-pin strike anybody?
In a similar vein, even though it got panned pretty bad, I got game party, which has things like skeeball, cornhole, pop-a-shot basketball, beer pong (with a non alcoholic name of course!), shuffleboard and more, also good games for a party.
Just avoid a lot of the C-R-A-P titles there are out there, you'll know them instantly, they are the ones you'll put in, play once, never to see the light of day again.
If you are a pinball wizard, get yourself a copy of Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection, that is perhaps the most realistic pin simulation I have seen. Great graphics, the physics are good, good table variety, and the controls - you use the nuncnuk so you have a button in each hand the way it should be, and to bang the table around you thrust the appropriate controller the way you want to hit.
I bought We Ski, haven't tried it out yet, and later I want to get Guitar Hero, just can't come off of the close to $200 the full band version of that costs. I'm saddened they did not make NCAA College Hoops for it, particularly since NCAA Football (with Sparty on the cover) is available.
I borrowed somebody's Wii Play, I wasn't that impressed with it overall, but there has to be something said for that cow racing game, I don't know what it is but its an instant classic. Interestingly Tiger Woods was on my wish list, good to hear the positive reviews.
Enjoy!

I don't know anyone getting hurt. I know a lot of people, including me, that were sore after playing the game a lot right as they got it.

Go to Circuit City if you want Guitar Hero or Rock Band cheaper. Guitar Hero, full band version was $130 for all systems

Mario Galaxy is a ton of fun. If Nintendo tradition holds up, it'll probably go down as the best game for the Wii since Nintendo puts the most effort at producing games at the beginning of a console's life (or perhaps Wii sport will go down as the best game depending on who you talk to).

Doing the Wii Fit game now. We found one at Walmart today. My trainer is a real bitch. Fairly motivating, I will say. I picked up the NCAA football game, and hopefully an old guy like me can handle all the damn buttons.
