I am trying to remember the last time the court was rushed at UD arena and in all honesty the last time I can remember was Xavier rushing the court after winning the A-10 tournament. Is this honestly the last time? If so that is pretty sweet, regardless of the loss last night.
I am not trying to stir up any arguments about rushing the court, the game last night, or dayton bashing, just trying to figure this out after reading all week about Dayton fans wanting to rush the court in the event of last night's Dayton victory.

Thanks so much for moderating a Xavier board to keep the ud facts straight. Get a life!

I am for letting the students rush the court every freaking time they want too. I can't believe that people complain or worry about students rushing the court. The topic comes up every year and people debate when it is appropriate to rush the court. Some people get indignant at the thought of drunken college students rushing the court when they deem it inappropriate. I find that to be silly at best.
Did Dayton rush the court last night? If they did or didn't why would it matter?

No they didn't.
Yes, they did. And never forget this year's epic 1 point shocker vs Fordham. The red scare covered that court in a hurry.

In the last five years Xavier has rushed the court twice at UD, and that may be more than the number of times they have rushed their court. I wouldn't know, because I'm not a UD court-rush historian. I must admit, and I know others will berate me for this...but I get a tinge of pleasure when people rush the court after they beat us. It means we're big time, and they are not. The fact that they planned it just multiplies their ineptitude.

The first and only time I can ever remember UD students storming the court was the 2003 A10 championship. Dayton doesn't rush the court for regular season games. You'd have to go all the way back to the "Sit down, Digger" days of the ND/UD rivalry before you found any storming, I believe.

It looked like the Dayton students attempted to rush the court on Wednesday but were stood up by the security guards. The students tried and tried but the guards just held their ground.

Security guards need to get the hell out of the way.
College students rush the court for a big win. Big deal.
but.. but... people could get hurt!
Yeah, if the security guards wouldn't make students run through/around them... It probably would be a lot less dangerous.
Sucks to say, but I think the day will come when someone gets the shit trampled out of his/herself while storming the court and there will be tragic consequences that lead to the NCAA cracking down hardcore. I could also see some player getting seriously injured and missing time. Rushing the court is fun as hell but one bad trip over the wall and you could be F'ed.

We rushed the court at my high school and rather than running down the stairs and through the doors like everybody else, a few of us jumped over onto the court. We were fine.
Seriously, if everybody gets out of the way it's not really that big of a deal. It's when people try to stop it that somebody gets knocked over and hurt. Just let it go.
