Bonus Question: Will he try to shove Dante Jackson into the sidelines again this year or pick a different player?

I voted "no". He may have basketball talent, but it certainly is not discernable at this time.

I voted No as well. However, I do see him as a force to be reckoned with in a church league somewhere in the not too distant future. I think he will be the enforcer type that will keep any unruly Methodists or Baptists from getting too cocky.

Any youtube on his head hunting expedition on Jackson? Complete thug and a stiff to boot. I can wait to lay waste to those humpers.

He is the reincarnation of Jimmy "Traffic Cone" Binnie
That should answer your question about his basketball skills

Huelsman is horrible.
The No Talent shouldn't be allowed in an arena, even as a spectator. He stinks. I mean, even as a junior, his numbers rival his freshman numbers, with no progression whatsoever. Get this, he has had 2 games with ZERO rebounds. It's not like he wasn't in there for signifigant minutes either, he had 25 and 19 minutes in those 2 debacles. After that he has two games with ONE rebound, and four other games with a grand total of TWO rebounds. All of these games were with real minutes too. He just sucks.
Now, when I think of a Center, I think that their major job on the floor is to be the rebounder, more specifically, get defensive rebounds. The No Talent can't do it though. He has five, yes five whole games with ZERO defensive rebounds.
Just compare The No Talent to Kenny Frease. As a frosh, Kenny has 2 games with no rebounds, against Duke and Charlotte. But in the Charlotte game he had 17 points (which is a weird looking line). Hell, even vs Duquesne he had a rebound, on only 4 minutes.
So here it is, junior The No Talent plays 22 minutes per game, gets 4 points, and 4 rebounds with .8 blocks.
As a freshman, our backup Center Kenny Frease plays 14 minutes per game, scores 5.9, 3.8 rebounds, and has 1.3 blocks.
If The No Talent was on Xavier, he would never, ever see the floor. Ever.
I HATE dayton.

No Talent at all... I don't think Huelsman will go head hunting if Frease is on the floor due to the fear of being knocked unconscious from a head butt and thrown into the cheap seats.
I do hope though that if something happens in this game that Frease (assuming his ankle is fine and can play) can keep his cool and not do something that gets him kicked out.

His game reminds me of Tyler Hansborough...
...Not really a good player, but somehow gets fouled anytime another guys sweat gets on him.
Looks kind of like Handsoffmebro as well.

I don't even know what discernable means. But I know Sean Finn Redux doesn't have it.
Why in the world does Dayton travel to the Hickories of this world to try and find a center? Don't you know you got to go to the city for point guards and big men. Big guys, who don't come to school with a lunch box, because they plan on stealing someone else's that day. Guys who take the subway to school, not guys who go to Subway, because it's the only place in town.
Where is the Kurt guy from again? Tumbleweed? Did he work at a Tumbleweed? Is his defense look like a tumbleweed?
Traffic cone, tumbleweed, whatever. Big, White and Not skilled is no way to try and Beat Xavier.
Beat Xavier. Man I should make about 4 billion t shirts and set up shop at the Dayton Mall.

That's a great idea. I can't believe they haven't thought of that yet.

Kind of.
Have you ever seen the movie "Mallrats"? You know when they go to the dirt mall...

Hoolsman? How's this?
Sung to the Chorus of "Starman" by David Bowie:
He's a Strawman
Stuck inside the lane
He cannot move his footsies
He's a stick of sugar cane
He's a Strawman
A laconic big white pole
He really has no talent
And on offense, he's a big black hole
Let the foulfest begin
Let the foulfest begin
Let the foulfest begin........

You know what, I stand corrected. The Dirt Mall in Mallrats would be a marked improvement over the Dayton mall.

Binnie was the traffic cone. Huelsman is the telephone pole.

Huelsman is going to be on an island tonight (with Searcy out) and let me tell you his ass does not have the skills/talent to survive the night. He is going to Frease out there all alone in the paint.

We will have to be careful that Huelsman doesn't pick up too many fouls too early. We want to be sure that he gets a lot of minutes. The last thing we need is Kurt on the bench with 4 fouls and someone else in for him.

No argument that KH sucks but today history was made. A Dayton fan near me, and he was knowledgable and polite, advise me that we witnessed KH dunk in D1 basketball. I am keeping the stub.

as Kurt the Statue Huelsman registers his first division one dunk. This according to a very knowledgable and polite Flyer fan near me at the game. This alone is a first as well.
6"11 and one dunk as of the 15th or so game as a senior of his career!!
Almost seems impossible but I am holding on to my ticket stub. It may be worth something to Dayton fans some day.

when he hung on the rim, he was trying soooooo hard to savor the moment. he was probably thinking, "just one more minute of being on the rim, I want sooo badly to show that I belong in the NBA as more than a traffic cone"

That dunk by Kurt was actually pretty awesome. It doesn't outweigh his 4 years of failure but that will be the lone bright spot on his highlight tape, which will be pretty short.

It's actually his second dunk as he had one against Pitt at UD Arena. Either way it's not good for a guy that size.

I thought he and UD played well. That was an entertaining game. No shame to lose that way if your a UD fan. X's transition defense stepped up in the 2nd half. J Love's block party was something to behold.

I cant believer he has started every game of his career. 112. The traffic cone has started 112 games. That is amazing and kind of sad for UD.

In Dayton-speak, the TC has 112 games. Remember your initials and enjoy a WM tonight!

I don't know if anyone else caught it, but Huelsman also tripped himself and he landed flat on his face in an open court. One of the funniest, and yet saddest, moments I have ever seen on a basketball court.

Yep, I saw that...and laughed my ass off. I immediately thought, "there's an example of why that kid sucks." Huelsman can't run without falling, yet he has started 112 games for Dayton. Wow.

Kurt Huelsman sucks ass. There is no way to hide it. He merely exists, takes up space, and steals oxygen from people that actually use the stuff to process brain function.
He's shitty.

Can anybody come up with any other 4 year starter in NCAA history with poorer career stats than Huelsman.
