Wow. I had this bizarre feeling when looking at today's games this morning that Marquette would lose to South Florida tonight.

Hmmm. Okay, I have this bizarre feeling that large-breasted women will knock on my door and ask to use my shower......damn, didn't work this time.

Keep the faith, man. The day isn't over yet. Maybe she'll come by next week. Keep your fingers crossed, believe in karma, and tip your waitress. She'll come, just gotta believe.

On another note, good to see teams above us are losing. We may move up in the polls after all. Who knows though. Clemson will probably jump us but Wake could drop out of the top 10 and Marquette will surely drop below us.

Speaking of trap games, we are away at Duquesne tomorrow after one day off. Marquette may have been looking forward to Nova rematch?

As MOR says, respect the opponent. We're only -6.5 to the Dukes in the early line.

Considering our problems taking care of the ball, I'm surprised we're favored by that much. This could have the makings of another Rhode Island barn-burner.

It's going to be a little tighter than the Temple game. Hoping Terrell has a good game.

Respect the opponent, true.

Marquette losing should definitely help us in the rankings and possibly for seeding come tournament time.

South Florida is just a bad loss. They were 7-14 going into tonight with an RPI of 150+.

With Wake getting hammered and Marquette losing to a bad USF team, Xavier could move up to 7 or 8 with a win tomorrow night.

Louisville's loss also helps X....If Xavier can take care of business tomorrow, I expect them to jump ahead of Wake, Louisville, and Marquette with Clemson barely jumping us...So if we take care of business tomorrow, I see X coming in at #7 in both polls...If Clemson doesn't jump us, which I think they will, X could be #6!!

clemson was quite a few points behind us in the polls. they may not get enough points to move past us.

Agree. Miller would never have been looking past Temple and being on ESPN to do any preparing of players whatsoever against Duquesne until after the Temple game. With all of the new players this year that have never faced this team, this game could be tight. Travel. One day of rest. On their court.

Def. should be considered a trap game.

That is a very bad loss for Marquette. <sarcasm>It just shows you how tough the Big East is.</sarcasm> You can't really spin this one into anything more than a bad loss.

Marquette shot horribly tonight: 4-24 from 3 point line; missed 13 of 23 FT's and their best player (McNeal) fouled out w/ about 3 mintues to go. South Florida played ok but Marquette just sucked tonight. They also had 2 chances to win it at the end and missed a 3 foot lay up and a 2 foot put back on the missed layup. It just wasn't their night.

BTW: South Florida has some decent looking Cheerleaders/Dance team.

Marquette-and those 3 guards- will be tough in the tourney. 'Tho Dominic James should stop jacking 3's; it's just not his game.

I want to move up to #6 at some point. I want to be the higest ranked team in Xavier history. We are already flirting with that with a win on Saturday night.

I'm starting to become obsessed with our ranking. I now DVR ESPN's Inside the Polls.

Haha...I can't wait to see how the guys on ESPN Gameday spin this. "The Big East is so though this year!"

S Florida was #159 in the RPI - to compare to the A10 that is between Richmond and Charlotte. Could you imagine the ESPN reaction if X lost on the road to Richmond or Charlotte...

Marquette, UofL, Wake and Duke lose in the top 10.

I see the following, assuming we win, and no other upsets.

1. UConn
2. Oklahoma
3. UNC
4. Pitt
5. Duke
6. XU
7. Clemson
8. Wake
9. Louisville
