I was watching one of the games today and saw a graphic of the top conferences for top 50 RPI wins and to my surprise the A10 was 4th on the list.

Xavier has exactly one-half of those Top 50 wins- 4. The dump has 2- Miami, OH. and Marquette, which puts the smell of suck on Marquette.

Temple has one over Tennessee and UMess beat Kansas.

I assume it counts non-con games only....

So the A-10 is fourth just because they need to play an extraordinary amount of games against the Big 6 to try to get any respect.

And, as noted above, it's just a handfull of the A-14 that contributes to this total.

Ya I dont remember if it was only OOC, for some reason I thought it was not, but this wouldnt make sense would it?

On the Inside RPI today it has the A10 with 9 top 50 RPI wins:

XU- 3
UD- 1
Temple-1
URI- 1
UMASS-3

But at this point it is including in conference as well.

If they're using everything, then that is a flawed stat to me. It's like incest. Beating an in-conference opponent doesn't do anything to enhance the stature of the league.

I don't know what RPI they're using. In non-conference, I have Xavier for 4 - Memphis, Miami, OH., Missouri, and Virginia Tech. The dump beat Marquette and Miami, OH. Temple- Tennessee. UMass- Kansas.

Miami is the borderline team- In the Top 50 in a couple of measures, out on another.

I'm not saying that the statistic has in conference wins too I wasnt sure but either way forget about that. But of course in conference Top 50 wins count when it comes down to it and when it comes to the selection committee, how would it not? So UMASS beat UD so thats another one for them. I'll look it up real quick and list what they have specifically.

D, my only point is that the stat was apparently shown in comparison to other leagues. If you are trying to show the relative strength of a league to another, isn't using wins against tough teams in the other leagues the best gauge? A game between Duke and Wake guarantees another "Top 50" win for the league and says nothing comparatively.

Incest, to me.

Xavier: Memphis, Missouri, VT
UD: Marquette
Temple: Tenn
UMASS: Kansas, UD, Temple
URI: Temple

Miami has dropped out of the top 50 RPI.

Obviously these include in conference Top 50wins which I get what you are saying MOR doesnt do anything for the conference but it does help the individual teams.

Ya I understand that. I kind of started with one topic then went to another. That was my fault. Your numbers are correct for the OCC with the exception of Miami as a top 50 win because they are no longer in the top 50 anymore.
