#6 Wake Forest got beat by 10-9 (0-6) Georgia Tech today, 76-74. That's a shocker, a huge letdown after the big win over Duke on Wednesday.

Will Wake fall past Xavier in the polls? I really like Wake, but if Xavier got beat by a team with a 10-9 record and winless in conference, X would fall like a rock.

In the past, I would have been thrilled by this score. After X, I'm a GaTech fan. However, I started to adopt WF after Skip went there and now I want them to continue to have success. The team we see now at WF is the result of Skip's hard work (and the rest of the former X guys!). It really would have been great to see Skip on the sidelines for at team that will have a legit chance to win it all at some point over the next few years. Yes, that talent Wake already has, as well as the talent on the way, is that good.

As for the rankings, I don't think they'll drop below X, simply because Wake knocked off Duke earlier in the week. This is probably a letdown game on the road, at least in the eyes of the voters. It also doesn't help our cause that we squeaked one out against a sub-.500 team on our home floor. It's a win, but not an impressive one. So I think we'll wind up just behind WF.
