Who's the New #1

I ask this question because I feel that the voters and fans have completely different philosophies on Top 25 voting.

Wake was #1 last week and lost to a team that is 3 buzzer beaters away from being in the top 20 or 15. They drop to #4 in the Coaches' Poll and #6 in the AP. However, last night they beat this week's #1, Dook Blue Devils.

Does that make Wake the #1 team again or does it go to UConn or Pittsburgh? How does Wake jump 2 teams in the Coaches' and 4 teams in the AP?

IMO, Wake should have been #2 after last week and should be #1 if a new poll was to come out today

I think it should be Wake, and I think UConn is the only other team with a claim. Pitt lost last night so it will not be them.

unless UCONN falters this weekend, its got to be them. They are on a tear right now. Though you are right that Wake should not have fallen that far in the first place.

It will be UCONN but I have not see them play enough to know whether or not it should be them. I have seen Wake a few times and they look really really good. So I'm not positive who it should be but I'm pretty positive at this point on who it will be.

Actually OU is not a bad choice. Griffin is a beast. I don't think they will have enough to leap frog UConn though. It will probably be Uconn 1 and OU 2. Then UConn will lose next week and we will start this all over again. What a fun, crazy year.
