Anyone notice the kid in the student section with the Xavier shirt? I started to laugh. UC screwed up a decent lead to be down by over 10 at halftime.

Maybe UC had ESPN anxiety - ESPNU didn't get to switch to the UC game until 8:00 left in the first due to the Seton Hall game going to OT. UC was doing well until ESPNU cut over to their game.

Both Bishop for UC and Kennedy for St. Johns were ejected for jawing at each other. Good work guys.

3:49 left and UC is making a comeback, in fact they are winning now.

In terms of officiating and quality of play, the second half of that game was the worst 20 minutes of basketball ever played on this continent.

There was a point where three over the back calls were made (2 on St. Johns and 1 on UC) off of free throw shots so not even one second ticked off the clock. The officials really messed that game up.

And Not-re Dame is still ranked after losing to St. Gone's?

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

Notre Dame has an RPI of 66. So right now, they're on the bubble.

Noticed several things during the UC-SJ game. First, the Kennedy kid is the son of former UC guard (70s) Puffy Kennedy. Didn't hear a mention of it.
Xavier was in on Kennedy's recruiting but he chose St John's (thankfully). The kid's not like his dad. He's a hot head who cost his team dearly.
Besides the officiating which was sophomoric and inept at best, the game featured about 10 minutes of play-by-play and color commentary by St. John's student broadcasters, who were not professionals and should not have been on the game at all. Of course Bob Valvano and his sidekick weren't too much better.
I'm just happy my Dish package includes ESPNU with no extra charge! Yikes! To have paid extra for that would have made me livid.
That game set basketball back 20 years. At no time during the telecast did we see a scoreboard (mini) on the screen showing time remaining and score. Horrible. The Puerto Rico classic games were much better productions.
UC should absolutely kayo by 20 or 30 St. John's when they come to 5th Third Arena later this season. If they don't Mick could be in trouble.
Don't read the UC blog in the Enquirer. Those "fans" make some posters on MM during the 04-05 season look like Norman Vincent Peale.:D
