View Full Version : A brother gets involved in the action
Interesting Providence/Marquette game... a player's brother got a little too involved in the action.
Here's the video (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=290172507) of what happened.

That's gotta make you feel good about security on the floor.

how ironic the kids last name was xavier. i'm surprised the dayton fans haven't picked up on this yet. i can't believe he was able to jump the wall little lone get through the bench and get on the court. the providence players just sat there like nothing happened.

the biggest thing is the guy got called for a foul. It wasn't even a dirty foul. So I don't know why the kid got upset and then Xavier (the player) was going off the court to the locker room and he was bitching and yelling at someone. It baffled the announcers and myself as to why.....

Anyone catch the highlights of Marquette-Providence the other night? Apparently Jeff Xavier was fouled hard and his brother took exception. Check out the youtube clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qv4eguhhL0o&fea%20ture=channel_page). Here's the thread over at MUscoop.com (http://www.muscoop.com/index.php?topic=11659.0)

I saw this live. It was one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen. Seriously, dude came out of the stands and was in the lane before anyone really came and pulled him away - and he just slowly walked out there.
The funniest part is that after watching the reply, it was questionable as to whether Xavier was even fouled - the Marquette defender looked like he just had his arms straight up and Xavier ran his face right into the guy's elbow. The other funny part was that Xavier's brother didn't really look particularly mad and it appeared he just wanted to chat with the ref.

it wasn't a foul. The funniest thing is that the guy didn't even run on the court. He calmly hopped over the bench and walked out on the floor. Plus, what's wrong with a little conversation. If refs always complain about fans yelling at them, they should be happy when someone wants to reason with them.

I still think it was a foul.. not much of one... but I've seen worse foul calls.
