Major reps to the pilots of that plane to make a safe landing in the Hudson Bay. I can't imagine the fear of the passengers and the cool of the crew.

No pun intended there I'm sure, but it was 10 degrees outside and the water was 35 degrees. That had to be one bitterly cold exit...

I am sitting in the Philly airport and my flight home to the Nati is delayed. I am flying US Airways, and with my luck, the plane that is supposed to fly me home is in the Hudson River and the airline is only telling me my flight is "delayed".

Glad no one is hurt and I hope there are no friggin geese in our path on my way home. Sucks I will be in the air for most of the game.

The pilots kicked some major ass, and the rescue was absolutely stellar. You couldn't have written up a drill better than that. Considering the extreme weather, it truly was a picture perfect "emergency" situation. Damn fine job from all involved.

Edit. I just found out that is the flight my brother takes a couple of times a month. Hittin' a little close to home for me.
I HATE dayton.

Great job by everybody involved, and I hope all passengers are ok, as initially reported.

I heard Brad Redford started raining 3's and brought the plane down, but Smydra jumped into the cockpit and landed the plane safely.

As I understand it, it was near brilliant.

They had a ditch switch on board on that Airbus, but still, if either tip of a wing touches water, that thing tumbles and breaks up, and all hell breaks loose.

Great job by the first responders in NYC as well.

Canadian geese caused the problem. Just another reason to blame Canada........hosers.

I hate those phuckers. I've seen their nests at Caesar Creek and have thought of stealing their eggs. Don't tell Xeus.

And it's Canada Geese.

I think Obama should invade Canada. The Geese qualify as weapons of mass destruction in my book.

Michael Moore already did that in "Canadian Bacon."

If not that, then they definitely qualify as terrorists.

Great to hear that everyone is ok...masterful job by the pilot (you can tell he didn't go to Dayton, because he didn't crash and burn)

That news made my day yesterday. The greatest thing about America is Americans.
