Dayton over Fordham
LaSalle wins at Charlotte
SLU holds off UMass
St. Joe's beats St. Bona
Duquesne beats GW
Richmond loses to Va. Tech
Temple beats Penn
Did I miss any?
Lessons we can learn?
* UD struggling mightily with Fordham can't be a good sign for them.
* LaSalle and Duquesne may be for real...or realer than they've been in the past
* I think with their style, SLU will beat some better teams in the league by the end of the year. Also, you could not pay me to watch a SLU/UD game. How ugly will that be?
* I think Temple is a top 3 team in the conference.

To me, this looks like a lot of bad teams playing each other. You know the league sucks when LaSalle and Duquesne are two of your better teams.
* I think Temple is a top 3 team in the conference.
Each year, I pray that Temple will do in the non-conf what it often does within the conference.
Some of us felt slightly justified when they made the dance last year. But I was pretty disappointed when they were promptly dismantled by a not-that-great Michigan State team in the first round.

That's another option which, while I hope it's not the case, may be true.

I will put it this way. Xavier should go 16-0 in this crap league. Probably won't happen but this league blows donkey balls. I think Xavier should see if they can win every game by 10 + points and have some fun playing these shit teams.

Duquesne scored 54 points in the second half, is 12-4 and 3-0 in conference. Those record numbers are usually reversed for them. Greg Amodio seems to be doing a good job getting that program back in shape. Should be a good one when X goes there. It has been a tough place for X to win even in years when the team was doing very well and the Dukes sucked.
On another note, how does ud have to score a layup with 2 seconds left to beat Fordham at home? They have struggled to sqeek by so many marginal and bad teams that it isn't really possible to take them seriously.

Interesting game this Saturday at Duquesne.
Who is the bigger poser--UD (http://daytonflyers.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/sched/dayt-m-baskbl-sched.html) or DU (http://goduquesne.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/sched/duqu-m-baskbl-sched.html)? 15-2 vs. 12-4.
Time will tell.

When Duquesne struggles at home against GW...they have a problem...GW is as good as Hobbs is tall

They were worse last year, and we struggled with them at both places.
Good win for La Salle.

Who was worse last year that X struggled with? Xavier beat the Dukes by 27 and Dayton by 26 at Cintas

I believe he's talking about GW.

I think Temple is clearly the 2nd best team in the A-10. Hopefully, their win over UT holds up, although I think UT is overrated. I think Temple is the primary challenge to X for 1st place in the A10....happy we are playing them in Cintas.

GW has some good talent. Diggs, Hollis, and Witherspoon are all very good players. But they obviously have some sort of coaching/chemistry problem. On the nights they play organized basketball with effort, they will be tough to beat.
