Just watched the end of the Memphis @ Tulsa game. Memphis won on a layup at the buzzer.
Even though Memphis won, they are not very good. Coach Cal is a moron to think his team will accomplish anything if they don't get better at shooting free throws. They are way too reliant on the Frosh Evans. I think they'll win CUSA but they will lose their share of games.

That was a debacle of a final minute by the refs. First the refs call a phantom foul on Tulsa and the Memphis player misses both FTs. The next time down the floor the ball clearly goes out of bounds off Memphis, but the refs say Memphis ball. To make up for it, they call a cheap foul on Memphis allowing Tulsa to hit the go ahead FTs before Anderson's drive for the lay in.
I haven't been impressed with Tyreke Evans at any point this season. He's constantly in AAU mode. Bad shots, no defense, only hustles when it can lead to a dunk for him.

They need to get better at shooting overall.

I was watching that game as well. I found myself really rooting hard for Memphis. I want Cal to go undefeated in C-USA. I want our win over Memphis to be a quality win.

Tulas got homered in their own place. Two terrible calls by the refs. I hate Memphis.

Yeah, but you want them to win to help XU's rating.

Memphis is the gift that keeps on giving. That's why.

I'm rooting for Memphis in every game from here on out. I don't mind Cal, an each win makes the Xavier win over Memphis on a neutral court look better by comparison. (I think that's what X-Band meant.)

Oh, I was afraid it was another dig, lol. I'm on the Memphis board MT.org (http://ncaabbs.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=499) + memphisroar (http://memphisroar.com/) a lot and stumbled upon your site. As far as a fan base vs. fan base thing, I'd say the general consensus is that you guys are likely okay (if you popped up on the television, all things being equal we'd likely pull for you guys). That's why I was surprised to find out you hated us, lol.

It was meant as a compliment - there's no built-in hatred of the Memphis program on this board. Charlotte fans, on the other hand...

LOL. You mean 6BC? We don't like them either, but we have an unrelenting hate for Loserville.

PS: Bank Memphis being a quality win. We've got a new team that is just now figuring it out. In Cal we trust.
