They changed the format on MM. Just clicked over there to see Service Unavailable and they're pretty much cleared the board. Now they have two hamsters. xeus can't be happy about that....

They must have just changed over tonight. I was checking it out right after the game and they still had the old format up. Looks like they are trying to convince themselves they are still the #1 Xavier b-ball source on the net, but there's only only place to get all your xavier hoops needs!

Actually, this site should take it as a compliment. MM has never changed before so drastically. Wonder why it happened literally weeks after a "new" board gives them a run for their money?

Sorry, it's not the board that I worry about. It's the moderators over there that make it bad.

Yes, speaking as a new moderator on here, I know the problems that I face too. I won't please everyone. In fact, I probably will anger some people. But at least on here I will explain my decisions, let people know why and what is up, and I will not be the naysayer as other "mods" have been. That doesn't mean I won't be negative when I feel negative. I will. When I am angry, I will say so.

All I am saying is that I know these guys on this board (especially Xeus) and as long as people give us a chance beyond the obvious growing pains that we will experience, then I expect this site to be a very informative, fun, and inclusive site. Just give us some time please. I HAt....dammit. I so want to do that.

Actually, they are using phpBB. phpBB is a free, open source message board system that has been around for quite awhile. Here at XavierHoops, we're using vBulletin. vBulletin is not open source. Just wanted folks to know the differences.

I am guessing the avatar thing has something to do with pictures. If they allow pics in avatars, no telling where it will lead. Someone might try to post a picture of the 13th green at Augusta if they see an avatar pic, and anarchy will reign supreme.

Strange how this all comes after the entire fanbase practically abandons the site. And after years of reasonable posters asking for just minor changes. Does anyone sense the "cause and effect" in this situation? All 5 of the remaining memebers should be able to have some very interesting conversations over there. And free of trolls, to boot!

My instinct was to at least register my username(s) over there, but I have little interest as long as Shadow is around.

I'm sure anyone who has interacted with Muskieman likes him and knows what a great fan he is. I disagree with Gary about his outlook on Xavier, basketball, life, and pretty much everything, but can have beers and talk basketball with him.

But the Shadow (and server issues) ruined what was a great place. He was worse for Xavier boards than even Pierre Dracot. I challenge anyone to find a basketball-related post by him.

I would like to see Muskieman, vee4xu, and several others over here, but the rest can wallow in their self-loathing over there.

The funniest thing about the "new" MM site is that someone registered pmthor (or something close to it-PM thor, PMThor, whatever).

And now they are trying to pass themselves off as me. In a moment of weakness I registered as Thor and responded, but that won't happen again. I think it is kind of flattering that someone would waste so much time trying to pretend to be me. I mean, I know I am awesome and all, but that is kind of weird. Oh well, at least whoever is doing it is having some fun, albeit at the expense of others.

I have no idea. I always posted very clean and wholesome pictures, yet at one point last summer, my picture posting prowess caused me to feel the wrath of the crusty old Shadow.
