Cash your ticket if you had under 35 for the first half. Gross.

I think the Jacksonville Jet is leading the way in rushing for dayton and KH is the leading reciever out of the TE spot.

Miami is without their starting point guard, Hayes, so they at least have an excuse.

Dayton with an insurmountable 39-36 lead, three minutes left.

I immediately regret watching the last 4 minutes of this game. That one announcer was insufferable. Only Gus Johnson can pull that shit off.

45-40 final. Dayton could win 25 games this year, with 24 of them being garbage. The dwarf must have been hearing footsteps this offseason, to give birth to a schedule like that.

I think Warren would have crapped himself if Kenny Hayes was playing. It would have been a completely different game.

As I just stated, my son's 6th grade team scored 48 points on Monday night...just saying.

I really think a loss to UD is now unacceptable this year. They are a fraud. One decent win so far.

I don't care how much of a die-hard you are, that game--or at least that first half--had to be absolutely miserable to sit through.

UD's schedule is going to do them no favors. They have about the same record as out of conference last year, but it's amazing how much worse their at-large profile is. Marquette is a fine win--though I expect they will be hard pressed to finish 7th in the Big East--but the rest of their games, outside of Miami and Creighton, were really cupcakes. I'm a big proponent of scheduling non-con games against winnable opponents who also have a chance to make some noise and be potential Top 100/Tourney teams/etc. Auburn and Akron might fight the bill on that, but otherwise, I just don't see a lot of those on the UD non-con.

It's tough when you don't leave a lot of margin for error.

OMG there is a UD fan at my work and he is convinced that UD is one of the best teams in the A10 and all they have to do is win 7 games in the A10 and maybe one game in the A10 tourney and they are for sure in the NCAA tourney....first I told him, that he is so GAY....and then he said that X would lose the game up at the dump....I said you are so GAY....so je asked me who has Xavier played???? OMG, he is so GAY....so I pointed out the SOS of both schools and the RPI of both...and he said he doesn't pay to much attention of those stats...OMG ...GAY.....Oh yeah, he is so GAY....

UD fans do not use facts - unless it is their record in the '50's or '60's.

Yeah, he must be a real knowledgeable basketball fan if he has no idea the importance of SOS and RPI. UD's non-conference record certainly won't help those two stats.

First half was brutal, second half was great. Two rival teams beating the snot out of each other for 40 minutes...have to love that. UD and Miami are defensive minded teams that are more than willing to grind it out. It's a recipe for a 45-40 score. I loved it, and would have loved it even if UD had lost.

The SOS isn't strong, but for anyone to make the assumption that UD isn't ready for league play is off base. The intensity and physicality of the games against GMU and Miami will only be matched by the Xavier games. Going into Akron and winning is pretty much equal to SLU, Charlotte, and several other A10 buildings. They've shown they can win pretty (Marquette), ugly (Auburn, Miami), shown they can come from behind (GMU), and shown they can win away from home.

On paper the Flyers are the second best team in the A10. If they play like that over the course of the next 16 games, they won't have an issue making the dance. SOS is a tool used to compare bubble teams. At 25-26 wins before going to AC, Dayton won't be on the bubble.

IMO Dayton is an 11-5 or 12-4 team in A10 play this year. Anything less is bad.

Amd hey, BC, Tennessee, and WVU all have lost so far this week. A win in Springfield puts UD in the Top 25.

Adam,

I think UD's non-con probably prepared it just fine for the A10. I just think that, given the relative weakness of the A10 this year, UD's non-con schedule will not be as helpful in an attempt for an at-large.

Basically, I thought that they could make the tourney last year as an at-large with a 10-6 record in the league, based on their 14-1 non-con and who they played and beat.

This year, I think they will probably need at least 12-4 in the league to be sure they make it as an at-large (and maybe even 13-3 if they don't get at least one win against X in the regular season). I know the absolute win total will be there if they get to 10-6, but the RPI will probably be lower than it is even now, which puts them firmly in bubble-land.

But they are still in good shape to make the tourney. UMass will be an interesting test of a first game--on the road, a team with some obvious talent, but hasn't played well.

On paper, things always look a little better. My UD buddy has been saying UD will be awesome for about the past 5-6 years now. Still waiting for that to happen. I hope it does for the sake of the A-10. The prediction for your # of wins seems a little high to me though.
