so losing to them would be bad for us?

I wonder how hard it would be to get a home/home with UK. That would be a really fun game. If we want some more SEC blood I think that is where we should go.

Good luck with that. We do need to continue games with MSU, Bama, UT, Auburn, LSU, etc. I would like to see us add Vandy, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Georgia, and South Carolina as we can. Getting UK home and home isn't going to happen. Getting UF to play home and home would be difficult. UT will likely be difficult in the future. For the other 9 teams, it should be a no-brainer for both sides.

Good work Mark.

That's unbelievable. Hopefully the Committee treats the SEC like they did Syracuse the last couple of years.

So what you are saying is...they are no good and play no good teams

I'm not saying they are bad or they are good. All you can say about any team in the SEC with maybe the exception of Tenn. is they won 95% of the games they should have won and nobody went out of their way to challenge themselves. The entire league is an enigma. However, I bet they get four or more teams in the tourney without proving anything in their OOC games.

I found it funny how awful their OOC schedule was. What I find interesting is how uniform the procedure for scheduling is for the SEC. "Schedule only games you know you can win." seems to be the motto of the league. Then when conference play comes around every teams winning % is grossly inflated which in the long run does nothing but help the leagues overall RPI.

RPI formula:

25% your own record
50% your opponents record
25% your opponents opponents record

The SEC as a league has basically said screw the final 25% (if teams we played OOC end up going a combined .500 we'll be happy; anything better is gravy) focus on inflating your record so even if we beat the crap out of eachother in the conference we can fall back on eachothers records.

I know the A10 has been attempting to stream line it's schedule process but it does the conference no good if every team is not on the same boat. What the right formula is? I'll leave that to you to debate. I have no idea.

Watch as the season goes on how drastically SEC schools RPIs jump because of their winning percentages. It will be interesting to watch.

It is hard to get a gauge on these guys. Most of the teams are young, so the scheduling was a bit softer than normal. Arkansas wasn't looking that tough, but then they took down #4 Oklahoma. Mississippi State wasn't looking good at all, but they have beaten Houston and Western Kentucky pretty handily in back-to-back games. South Carolina is looking a lot better as well. I was originally thinking 3 tourney teams tops, but with all but 3 teams having 10 or more wins, They might end up with 7 or more teams with 20 wins.

As for LSU, they should be a tougher test than Auburn, and we play them on the road. Washington State is a pretty good team, so that was a good win. I wouldn't put too much stock into the weak schedule that they have played.

Bobinski once said that UK wouldn't accept a 10 for 1 if we offered it.

LSU stepped up in class and went out to Salt Lake to play the Utes tonight. Of course, they're getting absolutely stomped.

Arkansas the team to beat? That Fortson at point is our of control at times, but pretty good, reminds me of Terell. Their big guy, Washington I think his name is, also looks pretty solid.

They were bad enough last year that they needed to schedule Ws, period. We should be fortunate that they don't play in the much tougher SEC East where they'd get stomped bu Tennessee, Florida, UK, and Vandy.
