View Full Version : DeJuan Blair
You win some, you lose some, but this is one kid I would have loved to have seen in a Musketeer uniform. He's a monster down low, and despite being a bit undersized (vertically), he just had a nice block on Georgetown's man-child Greg Monroe.
And to whomever else is watching this game, did anyone find it odd when Vitale made the comment about them serving beer at Georgetown's Arena? Just before they cut away at a commercial and during a highlight of a Blair slam, Vitale was saying "I could see kids at 11 a.m. drinking beer. And that's a no-no. That's a no-no." Such an odd person.

We would have easily one of the best frontcourts out there.

I heard that cooment too....how obsurd was that.....they are college kids they should be drinking at 11 AM on a Saturday especially if there is a game....I still do it (except for today, I am going sober-for now)

I heard that quote from Vitale...odd. I laughed because when the second half was about to start the camera showed a Hoya student holding a Coke cup. My first thought was "Why isn't that a beer?". As long as they're of age and not driving, drink away. Vitale sounded like a judgemental odd coot.
Blair is one of my favorite players to watch. I think he uses his body to seal off better than anyone in the country.

Agreed. Probably wouldn't have Jamel now, but Blair alongside Brown with Love would have been too much.

No kidding. I like how Vitale likes to parent college kids just because he calls basketball games. No thanks on the value judgments, Dickie.

I think he meant they should be hitting the hard stuff for the games.
Blair now has 20 and 17, along with a handful of assists.

They do a great job of getting offensive rebounds leading to easy putbacks. Love and CJ do a pretty good job of that, but if we could do it as often as Pittsburgh does our team would be at another level. We tend to have bad stretches offensively, so being able to get a lot of second chances could help us get it going faster.

I had a beer cracked watching that game at 1200. Vitale is getting more and more senile.

In a long line of absurd comments from Vitale over his career, that was easily the most ridiculous.
Has he ever met one of those kids that walked the straight and narrow in HS and college? They are some of the most maladjusted people you ever met. They usually go ape shit in their mid 20's and end up embarrassing themselves and their families much worse than a college student on a bender at the beginning of the quarter/semester.
I will be sorely disappointed at our student body if I show up at a noon game to find them sober and sipping frapaccinos in paper cups with that shitty sleeve.

I really like that kid. He eats up Cincy big time.
