The 6-foot-5, 185 lbs. swingman demonstrated a very solid all-around game. He showed the ability to knock down three-pointers on a consistent basis, but also drove past defenders with ease if they came too close to him. Scott can pass the ball well, and is adept at finishing in traffic. He can knock down shots from anywhere – behind the arc, mid-range, pull-up, contested, wide-open.
Although he is only ranked No. 83 by Rivals.com, Scott feels as if he compares favorably with the top players across the country.
Right now, Scott’s recruitment is wide-open with a multitude of schools courting the confident youngster. He said that Pittsburgh, Louisville, Connecticut and West Virginia and other schools are looking at him from the Big East, while Virginia, Miami and Xavier are also interested in him. He said he is not leaning in any particular direction just yet.

Looks as if Xavier is on the outside looking in on this one.

Durand Scott has narrowed his list and is planning his visits.
Rice head coach Mo Hicks said Scott will visit Pitt, Miami, UCLA and Louisville officially and Seton Hall and St. John’s unofficially.
UConn, Xavier and*Memphis are also on the list for the 6-foot-4, 180-pound Scott, the No. 12 shooting guard in the Class of 2009 according to Rivals.
I think X took themselves out when they got Crawford.

If Xavier got Scott then they would not have a chance at Sibert in 2010. We have a ton of guards and need either two big wings or a wing and a post player. I think Xavier has a good shot at getting Sibert.

I would be very suprised if Xavier makes it into Scott's top 5 and gets an official visit. The addition of Jordan Crawford pretty much ended the recruitment of Omari Lawerence and Durant Scott. Xavier wants a big wing and a PF or a Center who can shoot a bit in the 2009 class. We are in better shape with some of our other targets.

The latest I've seen projects him to end up at Uconn.

xufan02 you are correct. According to ZagsBlog, Durand Scott cut his list down to 5 today and subsequently snipped Xavier. Not too surprising for reasons you pointed out.
