I was at Bigg's the other day and, on my way to the cheap beer, I took my usual glance at the good stuff, because I am always happy to grab a six of something if it is a buck and a half cheaper than usual. On this particular day I saw that Warsteiner Radler, regularly $7.99, was only $4.99. I thought it was a lemon-tinged hefeweizen or something like that. I knew it was imported from Germany so it had to be real beer, right? Then I got home and saw it was "Malt beverage with natural flavors. 2.5% alcohol." Even worse, they were only 11.2 oz bottles.
I was suckered into buying Zima!!!!
If you see Warsteiner Radler or it's orange or green sisters, stay away, stay far away.

Thanx for the warning.
While walking around on Halloween with the kids....somebody in the sub gave me a beer called Xingu.
It's brazilian, it's really good, and it's available at Party Source.

"Radler" means cyclist and according to legend was invented by a German restraunter who facing a shortage of beer due to an influx of bicylists to his tavern, watered down his beer with a lemon drink to make the beer last.
I would stay away from any concoction like this in the states and do not drink it often abroad though the northern version of Alsterwasser is tasty.
You could always make your own version with a Hefeweizen but they tend to mix coke with it, making it a colaweizen.

So it's a Zimaroll. Sort of like a Rickroll but not as funny.

Radler is extremely popular in Germany, especially in the summer. Considering that it is 50/50 lemonade and beer the 2.5% sounds exactly right. It is definently a summer drink though. That is probably why it is $4.99 in December.

We had a drink at Xavier (invented by one of the basketball players) called strip and go naked. It was 5 cans of beer, one lemonade concentrate and half the lemonade container of vodka. Mix it up in a big tub with some ice, maybe a double or triple batch. A little stronger than beer, but women would drink it a lot quicker.

Sorry, but I have a hard time believing that a Xavier basketball player invented 'Hop, Skip and Go Naked' (http://www.drinksmixer.com/drink4293.html).
