Corie Blount was busted yesterday for possessing 30 pounds of marijuana in his Liberty Township home. The moron was busted for receiving a package containing 11 pounds of maryjane and then the cops found two other similar packages from previous deliveries when he was being arrested. He was arrested, but then released on a $10,000 bond.
Typical UC moron.

In addition to Corie Blount, a former UC player from the early 80's, Junior Johnson, was recently sentenced to 9 years in jail for securities fraud.
The only good thing to come from the Johnson trial is that his in-house lawyer was found not guilty. It's extremely important that our courts protect the lawyers.

That's a lotta hootch.....I heard that the cops were led to the scene because the packages had Johnny Chimpo markings on the outside.

What he is saying is that we have Knuckleheads that have come from our program as well. That guy left 10 years ago, no need to bash UC on that one.

There isn't a statute of limitations on poking fun at UC players...current or former. (Our former players have been their fodder for years as well.)
The funny thing about this arrest is the fluff piece a UC alum magazine did on Blount in September. They made him out to be Ward Cleaver. I guess he's honestly more like Nino Brown.

Sure there is. He went to UC and now he's going to jail. One of my UC buddies even called me about this before this story was posted. If the UC people want to bring up the fact that he went to UC 10 years ago, they can. But it's still sort of a funny story, at least for Xavier fans.
And for crying out loud, Blount probably earned $20-30 million in the NBA. Didn't he save any of that? And does anyone remember when he was pulled over a few years ago and had a huge sum of cash in his car in a shoe box? At the time he claimed he had just sold a car for cash. Hmmmmmm.
But wasn't Blount an assistant coach at UC under Kennedy? Is that worth anything? Geez, the one former coach and player was a drunk and now we have one who's a drug dealer. The Huggins' legacy goes on and on.

Sherrif Richard K. Jones said that one of Blount's cars had a safe in the trunk. Hmmmm. I doubt he uses it to safe-keep his kids' birth certificates, his diploma and a will.
He also had multiple guns confiscated from his residence as well. I don't think he's a hunter either.

After a little research, I am able to confirm that Blount was an assistant coach under Andy Kennedy. Blount took over for Keith Legree after he had to resign for his alcohol/sleepwalking problems.

This is a little ironic. Blount was at the Cintas Center for the Auburn game with his kids. I take no pleasure in his arrest. I think it is very sad that he was caught. That is a LOT of pot. I am guessing if it was average potency, it was probably worth $60K or so for 30 pounds. If it was chronic, it was probably closer to $150k.
What a shame. At least he wasn't in a school zone.

No program is immune from two things: People that commit crimes, and a transfer rate of up to 1 per year. No reason to get worked up about either.

There is absolutely no comparison between the two programs. Zero. Nada. None.
And the two Xavier players you refer to were kicked off the team for disciplinary issues.
And besides, we're just having a little fun at Corie's expense.

Transfers are newsworthy when certain fans brag about recruits and then said recruits end up transfering to D-3 schools, and then don't even start at the D-3 school.

I agree that UC would win the rap sheet war with any school. However, a certain St. Leo/Xavier grad was just in some trouble, not to long ago, for some of the same reasons.
I love a good UC joke as much as anyone, but we have to be prepared to take SOME crap back at the same time.
On Blount...the guy plays 10 years in the NBA, including a 6 mill deal with the Bulls...and now is living near Middletown Oh and selling weed?????

Society has much bigger problems than marijuana users and their dealers. I wonder what percentage of people has at least tried it at least once in their lives. It's a big number. The people who've tried it more than once, is an almost equally big number. It's all just so hypocritical. To me, Blount came across as a reasonable person.

You failed to read the entire post. I mentioned "bragging about" recruits who eventually transfer. Like normal people, we took a wait and see attitude with Bronson.
FYI: The original post was in jest and made in reference to some of your UD predecessors who talked and talked and talked about how great the Fab 5 class was and how UD was going to dominate Xavier. Those posters eventually left the board in shame. You appear to be a little more rational though.
A lot of Xavier fans do need to get off their high horses. I'm guessing it's the older guys who think that our program is so much cleaner than UC's because we have such better kids than them. That is not necessarily the case. What makes the Xavier program different from the Huggins era UC one is how we handle kids. I know that Huggins recruited more kids with troubled or at-risk backgrounds, but spare me the BS. Xavier gets normal kids too. Most of them do not spend all their free time doing community service for their parishes. Huggins is a piece of shit because he shows no signs of caring about disciplining his kids the way Xavier coaches do. If something happened that wasn't brought to public attention, I have no doubt that Huggins would hide it while I have no doubt that someone like Miller or Prosser would do what had to be done, even if it hurt us. That's the difference. Xavier players seem to become better people in their four years here and I don't think you can say the same about Huggins' guys.
As far removed from the UC program as this guy is, we should not be pointing at the school down the road, except for in the smack forum where we can say whatever we want. The guy is responsible for his own life. He no longer has coaches guiding him. When Rose (I believe was his name) got caught selling cocaine in a school zone, I did not see any responses here about how we have dirty people in our program. It was all "What a sad situation, how could an X player go wrong, blah, blah, blah." This is in no way a reflection of UC basketball just like that was in no way a reflection of the program that Xavier runs. Both schools have good and bad people, believe me.
So for all of you who are getting off on hearing about yet another former UC player in trouble, get over it. If this incident strengthens your anti-UC attitude, I'm glad I don't hang out with you.

Maybe not the same quantity, but if we listed all the past and current X players who demonstrated poor judgement or other more serious transgressions, I don't think anybody would confuse Xavier with a seminary.

Good times, good times.
Bobby Carter paid the man! He was also a registered agent I believe.
Patterson didn't have a time card. He later furnised the NCAA investigation with a time sheet. One of the problems is that on some of the days on the time sheet he was actually at UC making long distance phone calls on Bob Huggins phone card.
I bet over 75% of the employees of Bobby Carter's employees couldn't have even identified Patterson out of a lineup. He never spent a day there. Condos Cars & Cash, man do I miss Bob Huggins. Bob Huggins has no integrity.
We need to play West Virginia again. I enjoy beating Bob Huggins.
Those were my glory days. Nothing was stronger than my hatred for the evil empire. Mick Cronin does nothing for me. I actually like him a bit, wouldn't mind seeing him do well. Losing Bob killed the shootout. I can't see it ever getting that intense again.
Running the Cincinnati Bearcat Convict Chat board was one of my greatest internet achievements. That shows how sad and pathetic my life is. That place was whack. Oh the good old days where hate reigned supreme. I loved every bit of it.

Bros,
Don't even start me on what I ingested during my tenure at Xavier thanks to Mr. Spoolie. And I was an "on scholarship athlete". Yeah, assuming golf counts.
Then again, I wasn't accused of a crime, nor was I trying to make money off of the deal.
For nothing else than idiocy, Blount deserves to be convicted.

Art Long is right out of Blazing Saddles. it was glorious!!
I don't know what actually happened, and I don't think I want to. The way I imagine it probably is not what happened, but I love the way I imagine it, and that's the way I want it to have happened!!
What was Huggins reaction?? I have a mental image of him showing up to work the next day, all smiles, getting his coffee, telling everyone good morning, sitting down at his desk, and then doing a spit take and hitting the roof. That's not what happened, but that's how I like to imagine it.
It was great!! I wasn't even old enough to appreciate it at the time, and it still makes me laugh. Those coaches and administrators probably win the room at every convention they go to. They're tossing a few back and swapping stories. They have a story about how one of their players punched a police horse. They win!
