Story that will top the XU game in the Cincinnati Enquirer: Kelly to Auburn?

Tubberville to Miss. State? That would be funny since he started at Ole Miss. Miss Muskie doesn't think it is funny at all.

Wow. One bad year did him in. And just think it wasn't too long ago when they had an undefeated season.

he has been under appreciated there for awhile. he will find a job where he will be more appreciated.

This has been an awesome year for me. Alabama and Xavier both beat Auburn within five days of each other and both Tuberville and Fulmer got fired this year. Life is good.

Until Bowl season next year when you can cheer them on!

Seriously, some school somewhere is going to get a very talented coach.

Seems like Auburn is taking the Texas A&M route. Fire a successful coach because of a bad year in a tough conference then promptly spiral down the toilet.

Tuberville's replacement will not come close to matching his success. Mark it.

I never understood what the administration had against him. He's a very good coach who apparently ran a good program. That whole thing with Petrino a couple years ago pretty much sealed his fate - you could tell he was out the door.

He is probably in the 2.5 million range. He is now sitting on 6 million in Auburn buy out money, so he probably won't be so quick to jump on anything.

With the money that Auburn is talking about tossing out, I think everyone but Saban will be on their radar. That ESPN money is burning a hole in their pocket. Most Aubbie people want Leach right now.

I read today that even Petrino is on their list which is crazy for many reasons.

- Same conference
- Petrino is a team/program jumping asshole
- There is something in his contract about leaving for another team in the SEC
- He has been there for 1 year!

SEC! SEC! SEC!
I thought it was a bandwagon comment. I thought you knew better than that.

I can honestly say I have never rooted for Auburn to win a game. I wasn't even pissed when everyone thought they deserved to be in the NC game.

What you say is blasphemy sir. It would be like me implying that you would ever cheer for Michigan.

I forgive you though.

Sorry I could have sworn you made a statement about how great it is when Ohio State is playing in the NC game because the SEC wins another championship. Your loyalties must reside along everyone except Tennessee and Auburn when that happens.

SEC! SEC! South Will Rise Again! SEC!

Does anyone know what time Michigan's Bowl game beings this year? I can't find anywhere.

The state of Michigan hosts the Motor City Bowl...it's held in Detroit at Ford Field.

It will be the MAC Champion vs. #7 from the Big 10

The game is played on December 26...no time as of yet

God I hate the SEC. I guess Tennessee doesn't realize they had a coach who won the national title for em and Auburn doesn't realize they had a coach who went 12-0 a scant 4-5 years ago. What a joke.

What's your point? Lloyd Carr was 122-40 with an NC and John Cooper was 111-43. What about Larry Coker? He was 60-15 with an NC. It isn't only an SEC problem.

Lloyd Carr and John Cooper couldn't beat their rivals, struggled in bowl games, and thus had no chance of getting over the hump. Larry Coker had over half his wins in a long winning streak with Butch Davis' players and then the program went to crap with his. Big time college football is about beating your big rival, competing for and winning BCS bowls, and making national title runs every few years.

Fullmer getting the axe is fine. Tennessee has been vastly inferior to Florida and hasn't been to a BCS bowl in a long, long time. Auburn had beaten Bama like a drum recently, won 9 games 6 of the last 7 years, and through no fault of their own got the shaft in 2004.

The SEC really makes me giggle. They rave about how hard it is to play in, yet a coach that wins as much as Tubberville in the hardest conference in the history of ever gets shown the door after one bad season. Simply put, Auburn panicked over Saban and forced a good coach out for the next flavor of the month. The boosters have unfairly been hunting Tubberville's job for years, and now they finally can claim victory. I hope they fall apart.

point taken, but its a problem throughout the entire sec (sans vandy i guess) whereas it's a case by case basis with schools in other conferences.

Maybe im scarred on this topic from all those college gamedays at sec schools where the fans started chanting "SEC!, SEC!, SEC!" That was beyond annoying. Really? Who gets conference pride when the espn crew is at YOUR school for YOUR game later in the day? Whatever.

I grew up in the Pac-8 (now Pac-10) area. We hated everyone in the conference and wanted them to lose every game they played regardless of the opponent. I like the fact that the SEC schools hate each other internally and then turn around and pull for each other when they step out of conference, but that's just me.

As for Tubby, he doesn't take the fall for anything. He likes to throw his assistant coaches under the bus when things go bad, and his administration was getting tired of handling buy-outs for all of the assistant coaches that he kept letting go. I think he is a great coach, but he does have a tendency to get people mad at him.

SURELY, Kragthorpe has some pride and will resign tonight or tomorrow.

Just turned on the game. Rutgers up 56-7 with 9:00 left in the 3rd quarter. I haven't seen much up till now, but it sounds like putting up 100 is within the realm of possibility if Schiano were that type of guy.

Kragthorpe appears to not be the best man for the job.

Most people hire coaches to turn programs around. I don't think that is what Louisville had in mind, but Coach K has certainly done a number on you guys. I don't think that I have ever seen a team fall so far so fast.

See, I like my rivalries to mean something. This idea of Conference affiliation to me is laughable.
