They just made a furious 7 point comeback in the last 50 seconds by hitting 3 threes and getting fouled on a 4th and hitting 2 FTs. They tied the game with 7 seconds left and Wisconsin hits a runner in the lane with 0.9 seconds left. Ouch.

That's just very tough luck for V.T.
Xavier now Wisky but geez A.D. Vassallo is a baller when the games on the line. Glad X has already played them!
Great comeback. They just cannot catch a break.
They sure did take their sweet ass time with the 0.9 seconds left though. Wisconsin was able to set their defense up. When that shot went down, VT just completely gave up...unlike X just over a week ago.
VT's arena sounded loud as hell on on tv.

I watched it happen. The Wisconsin player drove down court, into the lane and made a running two-pointer just past the foul line. This just after Va Tech made a three to tie the game. With .9 seconds left Va Tech hoisted a mid-court three pointer that was wide right. The loss was not nearly as stinging as the one versus XU because Wisconsin had about 10 seconds to get down court an shoot. Yet, it had to resurrect bad memories of San Juan for the Hokies.
I was really hoping their long shot would fall to win by 1, if for nothing else, than to even out karma for us so I can stop worrying about it coming back to bite us. Va Tech has to be about the unluckiest team in this early season though.

Just imagine how good the Hokies can be if they learn to close out games like that. I was amazed they even got it to a tie game that late, but to have 2 last-second prayers go against you in a span of 10 days? That has to suck ox balls.

Tech played incredible full court defense to get back in the game. Then in the last 7 seconds or so they let Wisconsin come right up the court uncontested to hit a runner in the lane. You see that way too much in college hoops. Matador defense.
Then when the hoop gets made Va Tech stands around knowing that they lost. Contrast that to Jason Love getting the ball out of bounds and quickly putting it into play. Va Tech was standing around flat footed. Wisconsin was getting back on defense. Those seconds are crucial. The difference between a half court shot and a three quarter court heave are huge. I watched the replay of Jackson’s half court yesterday. The setup was perfect.
I don’t prefer to win games like we did against Tech but we deserve credit for playing the whole game. That was a special play and a special win. I will be thanking Jason Love and Dante Jackson all year.

The Va Tech loss yesterday gained Dante's shot some additional airtime as they continued to show it. Unfortunately, the announcer failed to recognize the smarts Love had in quickly inbounding the ball, referring to the play as something like a lucky heave. Oh well, some luck did go into it I guess...

The was a crazy finish! That kid for VT played out of his mind and almost singlehandedly won that game for VT. Badgers escaped.
