What am I missing here? I would be very surprised if Dayton wins by less than 10 points.
My philosophy about sports betting is that if a line looks too good to be true it usually is. So what am I missing here?

Nevermind. I see this game is at a neutral site. I thought Auburn was visiting UD Arena.
I would still be surprised if Dayton won by less than 10 points. Auburn is not good, and Dayton is playing much improved ball.

A10 needs this one.

Line down to 2.5. Against my better judgment, I may jump on this one. Surely the Flyers aren't bad enough to lose to Auburn, right? Even on a neutral floor?
I can get them -140 on the ML now, so I think I'll go with that. It would be just like UD to screw me and win by 2 points if I just bet the line.

I would never bet on UD...making money on them is like blood money
Just looking at the first half stats- Dayton leads 26-21. Neither team can shoot tonight. UD is 11-35, 0-14 from 3, 4-13 FT. Auburn is 7-23, 0-12 from 3, and 7-17 FT.

is this on tv somewhere?

Nope...just following online. Was reading the UD board and found it funny that they were glad that no one could see this game. The shooting is horrid. 45-41 UD with 5 minutes to go.

Ugh. UD should be throttling this team, shouldn't they?
Now in OT...score was tied at 47 for at least the last 3 minutes and no one could score. Dayton is now 0-22 from 3. Chris Wright with 4 fouls.

Sounds like the ugliest game of all time.
Looks like UD will pull this one out, which is good for them. Auburn is NOT an NCAA Tourney team.
Flyers will get Marquette tomorrow.

And some gamblers are ticked, UD (how I loathe them) 60 Auburn 59!

Good for the A10, but wow that sounds terrible...

Damn, now that's some good betting.

I think I'll put the winnings on Providence on the ML for two reasons:
1) Charlotte blows
2) No chance the A-10 wins THREE essentially toss-up games against power conference teams on the same day.

Dayton needed that game badly and pulled it out. I hope they represent well against Marquette tomorrow. It would be nice to have any other A-10 team winning and ranked and drawing attention to this conference. It is in our best interests to root for Dayton (as bad as that sounds to some).
URI with a nice win tonight. I am happy with their progress. I didn't expect much from them this year but they are playing tough.
Both UD and URI were ranked last year prior to conference play and they both pissed it all away. UD can legitimately blame the injuries to Wright, Little and the Roberts flu. URI had no excuse. Dayton fans just thought that fate was a cruel mistress, URI fans just had to vomit. I would rather have been in the Dayton scenario, because the URI collapse you couldn't blame on anything.

Snipe, dayton is going to get destroyed against Marquette. Holy bejesus they are not, not good. The only reason they beat Auburn is because the suck from both teams was so great that neither could do anything right, and it took OT to prove their suckiness.
X is going to sweep them this year, no doubt in my mind.
I HATE dayton.

Charlotte has not been awful so far. Providence is just a dreadful, dreadful squad. Good luck in the Big East with that team Keno.

Even thought it's good for our league, I despise them so much, I would rather see them lose. The fact that it took OT to beat a bad team makes up for it a little bit though.

Charlotte and Providence are both pretty bad.

Charlotte is now 1-5. If X were 1-5 I couldn't even imagine what this board would be like...

It's is very easy to say that a team is not good when they looked like we did last night. Not much else you can say. Fortunately, college basketball is a new game every night. Most Dayton fans, myself included, have said that this team this year will look at times like we can beat just about anyone (the Mercer game) and at times will look like we can loose to anyone (Wofford and Auburn, yet we still won both). Obviously there is no way we can play like we did last night and beat a Marq or an X team.

I can't imagine that UD is going to have that many 0-23 nights from 3-point range.

UD wins this game going away with just bad shooting. It took atrocious, historically inept shooting for 45 minutes to keep Auburn in the game.

I didn't see this game, but were they just missed open looks? Or was Auburn defending the perimeter well?

They weren't all open looks, but most were what I would call good shots. The shooters were set, in rhythm, and taken with confidence. Nothing fell. Auburn's defense was good at times, but whenever we set out to get to the rim, we got there. In other areas: we got every important rebound, every important loose ball, etc...
UD making 25%, well below what they had been shooting, gives them 18 more points and a pretty convincing win. I don't know if it was an anomoly, or an early realization that we'll shoot poorly away from home, or what, but it was clear to me that UDs poor shooting was the only thing that kept the game close. Luckily, UD hit their last 15 free throws and snatched a W from what easily could have been a bad L.

Ehhh, but that assumes that the potentially made threes by UD would have otherwise been empty possessions.
But still, I agree with you. UD is a much better team than last night showed. Their game with Marquette tonight will be a good one.

You're right. But it does give them more points, and more points is a good thing. On the flip side, a few early makes could have taken an early 7 point lead out to 12, and the remaining game changes (probably in UDs favor). Bad math, point remains the same.
