111 to 103...what kind of score is that? Was there any defense played?
UK fans have to be beside themselves. Good Grief...losing at home to VMI? Huh?

That's how VMI plays. They run up and down the floor and press.

Of course UK could have been looking past VMI to playing UNC on Tuesday as well.

VMI does not play basketball. They play horse.
Kentucky does not like to make it easy on themselves. Last year Gardner-Webb, this year VMI. And UNC will destroy them next week.

I do not like Kentucky. VMI is now my second favorite team (sorry Gardner Webb).

My wife is a UK grad. We have season tickets. Took her to the XU debut at the Cintas Center when we were engaged and she stated "this is fun, but this isn't real basketball". Ever since she made that statement UK has sucked (by their standards). So, I frequently credit her with UK's demise (bad karma). Statements like that are why people dislike "the mighty" UK. I personally love what has happened to them the last two seasons.
By the way, my wife is now a huge XU fan and she understands/loves the Xavier Basketball Nation. :)

UK basketball = OSU football. Liked by none other than those in that state.
I hope UK loses to everyone.

Who would have ever thought about 10 years ago that Xavier would be better in any one given year than UK, UC, and IU (seen by many as "local" teams)? As an XU fan, I'm absolutely LOVING this right now.

We have passed Kentucky as a program.

One the biggest difference between us and UK is the fan base. It's pretty much just our alumni who make up our fan base whereas UK has an entire state behind em with a ton of fans who have don't have any connection to the school other than the fact that it says Kentucky on the jersey.
That's why I LOVE beating big state schools.

This will be at least two years in a row that is true.

I know nothing about Ball State, but I'm actually kinda surprised that IU beat them last night.

Hey Artist, can you clear this up for me?... When did Ball State and (I'm assuming) Indiana play?

I don't know if that's necessarily true. I know a bunch of people who are season ticket holders who didn't go to Xavier. And back on the old board, we did a "survey" of all the posters who didn't go to X. I was surprised how many posters didn't go to X (For example Drudy).
I don't have any stats to back me up. But based on anecdotal info, I think there are a lot of non-alums who are part of the fan base.

Well, never forget that I'm an idiot.

Thought they showed it on the scoreboard during our game. I'll double check online.
Edit: Sorry, it was women's. I guess they think people at a Xavier men's game care about random women's games from around the nation.

Ball State IS horrible, though. IU would likely beat them. John Thompson's son destroyed Ball State's program.

I think it's because the X women play IU next in whichever tourney they are in.

It did getting me to thinking though that Indiana would be kind of difficult to prepare for, especially early in the season, since there's no tape on them.

It's the Preseason WNIT for the XU and IU women. Indiana actually had their opener against Northwestern State last night; I saw a little bit of it on the Big 10 network.
