Short Q&A with Myles Brand in WSJ if you are interested. Not much to do with College Basketball starting, but just not worth its own thread. I'm a little pissed he did not address Jordan Crawford in the article.

Sloppy reporting - Brand was president at Indiana University, not University of Indiana.

Don't worry guys, it's only 91 days till UNC at Duke. I knew you all wanted to know how long till this epic match up would take place, so CBSSportsline was kind enough to put this ticker on their CBK page, linkage. (http://www.sportsline.com/collegebasketball)

Seriously now, what the fuck? I love Sportsline but this just pisses me off. There are no other games before this one to bring up? How about a day with no countdown to a game? I think CBS has a bigger hard on for UNC and Duke more than espn.

Jimmy Durante plus Anderson Cooper equals Myles Brand.

Just reading an article by Katz. Of his 10 Turnaround Teams, Xavier should play 4:

10 Turnaround Teams

(Teams poised to go from losing season -- to postseason)

1. LSU (13-18, 6-10 SEC): Why? New coach Trent Johnson has a healthy Tasmin Mitchell, veteran shot-blocker Chris Johnson, a scoring guard in Marcus Thornton and a versatile defender in Garrett Temple. If the point guard play is decent, the Tigers will win the SEC West.

3. Cincinnati (13-19, 8-10 Big East): Why? Mick Cronin had the Bearcats in the conversation for an NCAA berth last season and that was without Texas transfer Mike Williams. Williams is healthy after an Achilles injury and Deonta Vaughn is back to provide the scoring punch. This team is tough and will be a difficult out.

8. Missouri (16-16, 6-10 Big 12): Why? The Tigers had a slew of off-court issues last season and still were highly competitive. If things are calm, and Mike Anderson can truly play the way he wants with Leo Lyons, DeMarre Carroll and a slew of newcomers, the Tigers can be an NIT team at the very least.

10. Auburn (14-16, 4-12 SEC): Why? Jeff Lebo's teams have been nailed with injuries and suspensions. Four starters are back, led by Korvotney Barber. If there is any fairness here for Lebo, this squad should be able to finish ahead of Arkansas and challenge the two Mississippi schools for spots behind LSU and Alabama in the SEC West.
