A loss to OGBR Legends.
From looking at the box score the bench got some time, but looked like a 7 player rotation for the most part
starters
T-Phil with 20 pts 18 boards and 7 blocked shots
Tudy 15 points
Jerri T 14 points 4-7 from 3 pt,
A-Phil 5 points 7 boards
and Special J at the poitn, 0 points 5 assists

Dee Dee off the bench with 11 points in 23 minutes
Megan Askew 2 points in 13 minutes

I would have really liked to see Tyesha Moss, 3 assists in 9 minutes, I saw some of her high school pplay on TV, would be interested to see if she can make the step up.

Didn't go because I became quite enthralled with the elections. Despite the predicted presidential outcome, it was still interesting to watch it unfold and how convincingly Obama won. Ohio voting was interesting as Obama won the three major metro areas. He'll definitely add an element of "cool" to the office. Hope it translates.

Now, back to basketball business:

Good News:
- See XUPA's post.
- Nice to see the balanced scoring
- Jernigan gets a look off the bench and pretty well seems to be as advertised
- Five assists for Special.
- Ta'Shia with seven blocks
- Team was plus eight in rebounding
- Tudy seems to be the new "Joei Clyburn" type player.

Bad News:
- Free throws at 42 percent - remember they missed three against Nebraska and lost by that margin - but this will be the last time I bring that up. Like the Republicans, it's in the past!

- 17 turnovers

Interesting:
- Askew got more minutes than Barringer and Hester combined while Moss and Moore get more individual minutes than the two starters from last season.

- Eight point loss I guess is respectable as the team gets its first live, extended action. I'm not familiar with the top OGBR scorers, but I'll assume those were the WNBA players?

- If you look at the first couple lines of the play-by-play Amber Harris shows up as SUB IN. Why do they have to tease us like that?!

Looks like a little work to be done, but plenty of time to do it! On to Robert Morris and a shot at some of the best teams in the country!

I wonder why the women are still allowed to play semi-pro teams for their exhibitions while the men have eliminated that practice - but I suppose it's just meant to be nothing more than a tune-up for next Friday's opener.

I really have to question why they would schedule the Robert Morris game for 2 PM on Friday (yes, I know that the men play IPFW later in the night at 7 PM); could they not play on Saturday later that evening following the volleyball team's match?

If I recall, I think the women usuaslly do schedule at least one day game during the week per season. As I recall its often well attended by school groups as it is used for a school field trip. 2pm tip on a Friday seems a bit too late for this purpose, usually these games are at noon so they end at 2 and the students can be bussed back to their own schools in time.

2pm on a non holiday Friday just seems odd, must have been a scheduling conflict that caused that one.

That's my point Coasterville - it was a scheduling conflict; they have the Field Trip game later on in the season (February 18 vs. La Salle).

They also have a game on Friday Dec. 19 at noon versus Davidson at home; is this supposed to be an exam/semester farewell?

I believe the Women play on Sunday if they win on Friday in the 2nd round of the WNIT, so playing Saturday night would be an awfully short turn-around. Assuming I heard that correctly.

That's correct; I got an email saying today that they are planning on organizing a bus trip to Indiana on Sunday if both Xavier and Indiana win their 1st-round games.

X would host Ball State if BSU wins at Indiana, however.
