View Full Version : I voted for Ed Rothenberg.

I can't believe that. I would have been certain I would have never said that in my entire life.

I know Ed Rothenberg and his family. Growing up, there were two people on Earth I really hated, and one of them was Ed Rothenberg. I won't bore you with the long details of my personal hatred for all things Rothenberg, but there are plenty.

Today, I voted to have Ed represent me as a county commissioner. Have I mentioned how much I hate Ed Rothenberg?

However, the shady back room county commissioner deal that allowed Portune and Hartmann to run unopposed is the most revolting thing about politics. I'm glad that someone called bullshit on that action. I'm just not glad it's Ed Rothenberg.

I seriously hope Ed Rothenberg doesn't win, but I hope enough people vote for him that the message is clear. Until you get the bullshit out of politics, politicians will be nothing but bullshit.

I voted for slots in Maryland. I think it might be a close vote. Why people don't vote more for vices is beyond me.

Well. if xeus and KK voted for Ed Rothenberg, looks like I'll do it too. I already voted 36 times thanks to my friends at ACORN.

I am considering writting in Ed Rothenburg for other positions as well, so I can vote for him more than once on the same ballot.

We didn't have anything cool on the ballot this year. Just some homestead exemption and SPLOST crap.

Nothing about invading neighboring states for their water supply?

I got to vote on if the new Kroger at Kenwood gets to sell liquor and wine at 10am on Sundays...you never know when you are going to have a hangover and don't have any liquor or wine in the house to help you get over it

I don't understand why this would ever happen. There should always be at least 3 times the amount of alcohol all your friends could drink in a night at your house at any given time.

The girlfriend gets a little antsy when we get down to 6 bottles of wine for just the 2 of us.

I voted for Ed today as well. Don't know a lick about him. I usually don't vote on many of the positions because I have no clue who those people are.

The polling place was vacant downtown. All I hear about is lines, lines, lines. When I get there more people were working the polls than voting. I think they had 5 guys outside campaigning and passing out flyers. Inside they probably had 8 working the voting. Then they had poll watchers. Two lawyers were present for Barack Obama, one of which had flew in from California.

And four people were voting.

Some crazy nights...never know how many bottles you can go through...Currently, I have enough to last me a solid week of binge drinking...but you never know what the future holds

The wine is in addition to a bar that generally has one open and one unopened bottle of vodka, gin and tequila in it, plus various bottles of things I don't drink (flavored vodka, Dewars, Makers, Captain Morgan's for when Snipe comes over and likes to wipe me out) There's also normally between a case and 2 cases of beer in the basement fridge.

If I wake up on a Sunday and the house is devoid of alcohol, I need to go to the hospital, not Kroger.

.

It would actually be interesting to see Ed in the commissioner spot. I think it would be totally dysfunctional, but it would be more transparent than it had ever been. Ed may be a total ass, and his family may be worse, but I actually believe him to be a fairly common sense businessman. I am sure his no-nonsense approach would ruffle some feathers, and I doubt he'd play the back room games.

I wouldn't have voted for him if I thought he was a liability. I may dislike the guy, and he may not get anything functional done at all while in office, but I would rest easy that nobody was sneaking a fast one through the commissioner's office.

Didn't Ed Rothenberg have a real estate show on public access years ago?

yeah I voted for Ed too, because I am not a big fan of Portune.

Yes, and he also "wrote" a "book" on how to buy a home. We used to stock it in the local author section at Joseph Beth. It was about 50 pages, bound with masking tape, and had a picture of Ed on the back.

I watched that show a couple times. He's a very boring man. I heard him on Willie a couple times last year. He's a very boring man. I voted for him. He's a very boring man. I can't wait until he gets in a sex scandal with a hot waitress from the Wilmington casino. Did I mention how boring he is?

Doesn't look like Ed's doing too well so far. I'm calling it for Todd Portune and Greg Hartmann.

A 36% share on a guy who basically ran no campaign whatsoever I think still says the people of the county think the commissioner's deal sucks.

Also, seperated at birth:

I'm surprised that this SAB didn't come up during the election year (and I didn't realize this until I was watching the Xavier-UVa game on DVD recently):

There was one position that was run without opposition, and I just wrote in Pete Rose. He should have a position in office somewhere.

He is a righteous dude!
