Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski said that “no one can lose something they haven’t got” when asked about Paulus losing his spot.
Also, Miles Plumlee, a one time X recruiting target, will probably start in the post.

They found someone that can flop better than Paulus?

I read somewhere else that Nolan Smith was going to start at the point, but I cannot remember where I read it.

I watched this kid play QB for CBA a few times. He was such a great high school football player. Maybe it was his dream to play college basketball or something like that. In many people's opinion, he was a much better football player than basketball coming out of HS. I wonder if he wonder's what could have been.

His brother and him both were practicing at St. X my sophomore year in high school, he was a year younger than I and his brother a year older. They were both enrolled at St. X before a business partners of their dad was killed in a car accident and they had to move back to New York. While he was at X he tore up the entire basketball team and there were grumblings that he could put pressure on Marty Mooney, the starter for two years already at QB. There was a lot of buzz about him. St. X would have won a state title with him at QB instead of Schoenhoft and a state basketball tournament as well.

Are you sure they were enrolled? Greg's brother, Chris, was playing on the varsity FB team at CBA prior to that year, during that year, and the year after. Chris and Greg both played football and basketball that year for CBA. I am not well versed on High School eligibility but I would think that if you were enrolled at one school at the start of the year you would not be eligible to play if you immediately transferred back to your previous school. Greg started at QB as a freshman that year for CBA.

The starting back court would have been him and Johnny Wolf. It comes full circle. Considering St. X lost in teh finals when Johnny was a senior, a St. X team with Paulus would have definitely won state.
And you know who should have been playing QB? Dominick (sp?) Randolph. The guy is tearing it up at Holy Cross.

It was during summer practices, so the school year had not started. I dont know the rules either, but they both were practicing with our team. I was a sophomore and the junior was a DB and Greg was a freshman and playing QB. I know Greg was also going to the basketball shoot arounds. Maybe they werent fully enrolled? I dont know that they would have been practicing with us if they were not but I guess that could have been the case. Not sure.

Yeah no kidding. He is up for the equivalent of the Heisman, the Walter Payton Award, at that level. He could be drafted in the next NFL draft.

Interesting. Regardless it would have been interesting to see him playing QB at Notre Dame instead of choosing PG at Duke. Not bad for a short white boy. He had some serious options to choose from.

There were a lot of the big time schools offering him scholarships for both sports.
I remember everyone on Musketeer Madness seriously thinking that Paulus might come to Xavier. It probably is a good thing he didn't.

...OR if the coach had just put me in in the 4th quarter. Does anybody know anything about time travel?
