We've all humiliated ourselves with our first car already. For those that aren't still driving your first car, what is the best car you've ever had?

I had 2. After I rolled the Renault Alliance featured in the other post, I picked up a used 1980 Mazda RX-7, leather sport edition. I loved that car. That rotary engine was quick as hell. It had a pop-out sunroof that was almost the whole roof. The back end weighed nearly nothing, which made it nearly undrivable in the rain, much less snow. It also featured a manual choke, and had something called a 'heat converter' instead of a catalytic converter, which among other things, gave the car an extreme ability to backfire when cold. It was actually pretty funny.

Unfortunately, it also had an appetite for engine seals, and after the first $1,200 engine rebuild, I wasn't up for another one and sold the car in 1990.

A few years ago, I picked up a BMW M Roadster. In a lot of ways, similar to the Mazda, except the M was twice as fast. It was the only convertible I've owned, and it was a lot of fun. In a rare moment of maturity, I decided that fiscal responsibility was a priority over a second "fun" car that I only drove 3,000 miles a year, so I sold that one too. I sure do miss it on nice days though.

It looks like a black version of Ace and Gary's car from The Ambiguously Gay Duo:

This is a tough one. Each car had its own personality and was integral in cherished memories. The station wagon and van were legendary for road trips and their service to me will forever be heralded. I drove my dad's 1978 25th Anniversary Corvette for a couple of years and of course that was just a blast. After a couple of Honda Accords in the 90s, I bought a VW Passat in 2003 which I loved. Before I moved to Vegas for a year, the Michigan plates on the Passat said "XUHOOPS." I can't find that picture but it looked great with white letters on that dark blue plate.

Currently in an Infiniti G35 which I adore, but it handles like crap in the Michigan winter.

MM, I love the Passat's Reds sticker.
Remember the stickers that read "you're in Reds country" or something to that effect. Those were sweet.

I love boasting my Cincinnati sports affiliation in foreign land. I'm not a huge bumper sticker fan, but a small Reds logo on the ass of my Passat was a nice touch up here in Tigers country. I was one of very few Bengals fans in Las Vegas, so most people had no idea what "Who Dey" meant. I prefer to keep it that way.

Any car looks good that does not have a yellow plate on it.

My Jeep Wrangler. I love the damn thing.

It gets terrible gas mileage, is a brick on wheels when it comes to handling and speed, but it is just freaking fun. Plus you can work on it yourself. Heck, so far I have put in a bunch of stuff. In the summers I take the top down and usually take the doors off, and by the end of the season I have a weird looking tan. In the winter the thing gets through everything. I deliberately try to find the worst hills to go to get home. I'll never get rid of it. It's a blast.

My inner Hillbilly coming out.
