Holy Cow. ESPN is taking everything SEC that CBS does want in a 15 year deal at $150M per year. That is 2.25 billion dollars or an extra 12.5M per school per year.

Well it sounds like ESPN will now be the Big East/SEC network. I think Xavier is doing the right thing going with CBS sports, they are now going to have a lot of air time available.

ESPN really is a necessary evil. I like sports and don't like espn, but they have all the sports. Guess I'll live.

That's one way to upstage the Big 11 Network signing with Time Warner; I'm surprised that the SEC wasn't the first conference to form their own network.
Theres is in the works. They probably decided to let the Big 10 work out all of the bugs first.

In other words, this contract is going to supplement what CBS already has right now as far as the football and basketball packages. This is bigger than I already thought initially.
