Maybe Dana Altman isn't as nice as people think.

Sounds to me like he got fat, didn't work hard, Altman sent him packing, and now this kid's whining about it to anyone who will listen.
"My dream was to play Division I basketball, and that's not realistic anymore," Whitehead said. "I know now that I hurt myself by not giving everything I could during my redshirt year.
"I dropped the ball there, but I also feel like I had my dream taken from me."

I was thinking the same thing...I really don't feel bad for this kid. When you are given the opportunity to play basketball and get a free education, why would you blow it?

That has to be the longest article ever written about a kid who never factored in a game at one school and wasn't that highly recruited to begin with.
