Today, my little brother and his beautiful wife brought into the world Timothy Gray. 5 pounds even, which some might think is small, but with the trouble they had with their first baby (right at a pound, way, way early), then this is a blessing.

Thank you God, for delivering to my family the first nephew (5 nieces already). I am going to spoil this one rotten too. I am so, so proud. My brother did GOOD.

This kind of stuff really puts things in perspective. And the Cuban is burning well, and the Rum is great. What a great, great day.

As a Grandpa seven times over, I can relate to your euphoria, Thor, of becoming an Uncle again. I realize that you couldn't love anyone any more than your little nieces, but there is just something different about an Uncle/Nephew or Grandpa/Grandson relationship.

Enjoy it! Revel in feelings you probably never quite had before in the same way. Bask in the knowledge that you have not only this new little being who will be an important part in your life for many decades, but also that he will draw you even closer to your younger brother, a definite perk in this whole scenario.
