I was curious as to what Kokrak was up to, so I did a lilttle Google search. Turns out he's playing on the Tar Heel Tour down in the southeast. Looks like he had a tough go of it to start, but he's been one of the better players on the tour recently. He is 16th on the money list (looks like it's tough out there!).
Hopefully this is a prelude to Kokrak getting his PGA Tour card soon (or at least a bump to the Nationwide Tour)!

Jason has won 2 Ohio Amateurs and qualified for the US Open, but here he is trying to make it on a very low level tour and has missed 3 cuts out of 9.
Referring over to the Tiger/MJ pissing contest thread, again. This just shows how damn tough it is to barely make it on the big PGA Tour, much less win double digit majors over hundereds of quality competitors.
DWest and PoZ may continue to disagree, but the PGA Tour success is tougher. That's just the way it is.

JJ Reddick was NCAA Player of the Year and can't get off the pine in the League. It's not so easy to win 6 of 8 NBA titles with a questionable supporting cast either.

Re: basketball/ PGA tour...read "Tales from Q School" by John Feinstein. It really gives you an idea of how hard it is just to get on tour, and that it's even harder to stay there. And dominate? Wow. There is no game 5 or 6. If you screw up early, you're behind, have to find your game, and can't control what your opponents do at all.

Yeah but how many of those guys are just some random dudes that did not even play at a major college. Any joe schmoe can play a lot of golf and be good at it. Look at John Daly, the guy would drink and smoke during tournaments and he still won them. He is a fat slob. Any guy with a tiny bit of talent can win majors. In the NBA, you cant just skate by like Daly because you will be run out of the league or just sent to the Knicks.

Juice, I take it you are not a golfer. The only thing I can try to help you with here is that you need to consider the incredible level of concentration required to excel at golf at the tour level.
It is about talent - a level of talent most of us can't comprehend - concentration and, now more than ever for the younger players, physical fitness.

Juice: Daly was a college star @ Arkansas & won several Hogan/Nike events before PGA tour qualifying. Notwithstanding his personal/behavioral issues, he has long pedigree in golf. A better current example to illustrate your point (if any) might be Boo Weekley although he had success in secondary tours as well.

How many guys in the the NBA blaze up w/in 24 hours of a game? Sam Perkins looked split his entire career...Tracy McGrady has the best stoner eyes I have ever seen. Mickey Mantle was lit up during plenty of games in his prime...Lawerence Taylor admittely would go on coke benders, never sleep and show up on Sunday and dominate..those are just a few examples. John Daly is just another example of a tremendously talented person who couldn't kick the chemicals...

Smails, you're leaving out the best of them all - Tim Raines. He is quoted as saying the reason he slid head first into bases was to not break the vial of coke in his back pocket.
You cannot compare golf to any team sport. In golf, you rise or fall on your own. There are no judges or referees to help you out. You shoot the best score of go home. Golfers may not be great athletes in the Jordan/Bo Jackson sense, but don't sell them short.
