in referencing our teams? (X,UC, ND, Bengals)
I say HELL YES, because I am emotionally and financially invested. I could care less that it bothers people when I say....."We need to win that game".
What say you?
Why not use first person pronoun?
As long as you know when to say "us" and when to say "we". I do not support statements such as, "the crowd kept we in the game" or "us are really good".

It's funny that you bring this topic up because I was just thinking about this the other day. A lot of times I'll post in the "we" form without even thinking about it.
Lately, I've tried not to do this since it's technically inaccurate, but I really don't think it matters.

Proper english, sports, and drinking do not go together like peas and carrots.

I think it makes sense simply for clarity about who I am referring to. If I don't use "we", I'm going to have to use proper names all the time.
It's either:
"We were having a hard time getting the ball inbounds versus their pressure defense" or
"They were having a fard time getting the ball inbounds versus their pressure defense" or
"Xavier was having a hard time getting the ball in against UMass's pressure defense."
The first is familiar. The second is nonsensical, and the third would get annoying in a long post.
Kahns Krazy doesn't like proper names.

Done. Now I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 10 and if you guess it... just kidding.

Not as long as you insist on using smiley faces.

Many people will refer to a team as "We or Us" when talking about something good.
"We set a new record for 3-pt. FG shooting percentage!"
The very same people will involuntarily refer to the same team as "they or them" during darker times.
"They stink."
"They couldn't hit the Pacific Ocean from Hawaii."
"They are on a three-game skid."
This has been researched and illustrated in the past. People don't do it on purpose - it just comes out that way naturally. I say we all the time. I feel I am part of the team and in fact proper executon of The Ritual is Xavier's 6th man. Well, this year it's more like our 9th or 10th man.

PM Thor will win vs Temple.
I think I misunderstood something here. Give me a minute.

Fair enough. I've never been able to argue with the logic of children or dogs.

I think if you are talking about yourself, saying "we" or "us" could give off a bad impression.
If you are talking about a sports team that you support, it is probably OK.

Hey glow, is that you in the pic, or a random girl as an avatar?

That's Miss Muskie by the pool near the Sky Bar in H'wood at the Mondrian Hotel on Sunset. She looks better than I do so I post her picture instead of mine.
For those not familiar with Miss Muskie, she is an ex-g/f and now just my best friend and lawyer. We have sort of a Jerry and Elaine thing going on. She used to post on MM sparingly. I will ask her to sign up the next time she is sober. I am thinking 2009, 2010'ish.

Glow posts an avatar of his hotty friend. I post an avatar of a muppet with a bottle of liquor.
That's about right.

I said the same thing every time Kahn's Krazy breaks down the difference between coincidence and irony.
