The B-52's are on Leno right now and it's just sad. That's about the only way to describe it. Fred Schneider is just an old, odd, gay man trying to convince the world that what he is doing is music/art...I guess. What other explanation is there for what he does? Kate Pierson is just old. Lacks any connection to the younger days when she could be considered a decent "get." And the blonde (Cindy Wilson) has aged poorly and morphed into Sally Struthers.

The music? Still that same old sound that can be quirky fun but, at the end, it still just sounds like somebody's backdooring a chicken.

Well, I didn't see the performance. But what does interest me will be the whole WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO LENO DEBATE. So, the contract is completed. Conen Obrien will replace Leno within the next year. But where will Leno go. Will Nbc be able to keep Leno away from the other networks.

Also, I would like to add, I heard part of the new B52's album at Barnes and Noble.

And it didn't sound too bad to me. It sounded kind of edgy and cool.

But maybe acutally looking at them would have been a different exerience.

I don't think NBC is worried about it at this point. I believe the Conan's contract just calls for him to take over when Leno decides to hang it up. I can't see Jay jumping networks to do something similar. He has the gig late night show hosts dream of, why give it up for a lesser show?

More than likely Leno will retire and enjoy his 1,000,000 cars and probably do some stand-up. So, it will probably be a non-issue when that time comes. It's not like the Letterman situation. Dave was pissed because he wanted the Carson job and, when it went to Leno, Letterman told the network to kiss his arse and took his game to CBS.

No, this is Lenos last year and it isn't by choice. NBC gambled that Leno would want to retire and they wanted to lock up Conan, so it is written in his contract that NBC has to pay him 42 million dollars if they don't give him the tonight show next year.

Look for Fox to make a run at Leno.

The b-52's were on something in the morning. Today show maybe? They did "Rock Lobster", which just cracks me up whenever/wherever. I thought it was even funnier with the visual of them performing it at their current ages.

I agree. Fox is the likely candidate, though theoretically he could go to ABC and they could cancel Nightline and push Kimmel back a half hour.

Personally, I prefer Letterman to Leno, but I know he's popular. I think NBC has to be a little worried that Conan actually lost a week to Craig Ferguson a few weeks ago. But then again, Craig Ferguson is the funniest guy in late night.
