Xavier loses 4-3 on a HBP and an error in the 11th. Good game, though.

that was an exciting finish to the season for xavier. that's the best the baseball team has played since i can remember. it's heartbreaking to see the season end like that, but it was still a great run. that's the best the baseball team has done since i was a student there.

i don't know for sure how the atlantic ten structures their tournament, but i believe xavier would have needed to win both games of a double header today. charlotte just needed to win one. baseball is double elimination, but it's hard to overcome a loss early in the tournament.

brew, you are correct. Xavier was coming from the loser's bracket, and needed to win twice against Charlotte today. I realy don't ever remember them coming this close to finishing at the .500 mark. The Muskies were playing for their first ever berth in the NCAA tourney today, and it is a shame they couldn't take 2 from Charlotte.

Nice season and a great run for the fellas. Congrats on a great season for the men's baseball team.
