What has happened to this once great event? It truly was once an opportunity to get out and sample from many of the area's best independent restaurants for a couple bucks each. Now it's just another street festival.

I like street festivals, I just miss what taste used to be. I think it's revolting that a chain restaurant has won "best damn dish" for at least two years in a row. Cincinnati is home to some world class chefs. It's embarrassing for Carrabas to come away with an award that would indicate they serve the best food Cincinnati has to offer.

That being said, I'll still go and enjoy it.

I'll be in town this weekend. So I looked at the website to see who would be down there...and yea, I was pretty underwhelmed. Still, I'll probably go down Monday afternoon. BTW, when did they move it from Central Parkway to Fifth Street? I think the last time I was there for it was 2002, and it was definitely still on Central Pkwy.

There was a dispute here in Chicago a few years ago when the city allowed McDonalds to have a booth. Technically, they were founded in the suburbs...and so I believe they got their way and I believe setup shop there. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Taste of Chicago though. Unbearable crowds.

I am not sure when the Taste moved to 5th street, but it makes sense. I think I went to Oktoberfest on 5th street last year, but it could have been the taste. Hell they all run together to me.

They have rebuilt Fountain Square and Government Square, and the area is much more accessable. Central Parkway is wide and I had no issues with the Taste at that location. But I like the 5th street location much better.

yeah with the recent renovations to Fountain Square I can see why they moved it to 5th. Have they ever had it at Sawyer Point? That seems like it would be a pretty good location for it. Even though the food is usually overpriced for what you get I will be going this year and then to the Cyclones game.

It looks like the cowboy made a cowpie in his pants.

Are you aware that there is a naked cowgirl as well?

Was anyone else at Taste Sunday afternoon? If so, did you happen to notice an unusually high number of lesbian couples? I don't care at all, but it just struck me as odd, like it was the unofficial time for the lesbian community to hit Taste.

There's a pretty easy joke in there about Lesbians and Taste, but I am not going to make it. No, I will not.
