Just thought I'd break in the new forum with this post:

ud is awful, deplorable, and down-right detestable.

It's a beat-up, run-down small city trying to compete with Cincinnati and Columbus. The phrase "Dayton, Ohio" just sounds trashy. That said, the area is rich with history and harbors an awesome military base. Its only other redeeming quality is its proximity to Yellow Springs, home of Young's Jersey Dairy Farm.

Otherwise, I hate Dayton and I think their fan base is borderline delusional most of the time. I understand their unconditional hatred for Xavier, and expect it. If my team was always a couple of rungs below staring up the poopshoot of my unquestionably better rival, I'd hate them too.

Don't forget that Huber Heights is the Brick Home capital of Ohio.

The possibilities are so boundless I don't know where to begin. Let me start by saying I'd rather lick Thad Matta's toes than to be locked in UDump with them for any reason other than to cheer on XU. Stupid pratts coming onto a non Cryer board talking about how much better their one player is, calling him a stupid baby nickname that looks more like a corporate e-mail address that a real nickname. If they love the guy so much you could at least show him enough respect to give him a real nickname.

They do not want to be the next Xenia.

They failed.

So it's safe to assume that blobfan is not a brobfan...?

Wow, this thread just had me thinking about Xenia. I once parked my car there to get on the bike trail. Easily the most depressing downtown in America. Flint has nothing on Xenia.

Yellow Springs is funky and they've got that John Bryan State Park. My brother actually went so far as to find a route to Yellow Springs that avoids Xenia entirely.

It's more that I am not a fan of brobs fans. Generally, I have respect for any kid that can play at the college level without failing out of school or abusing drugs, girlfriends, horses, etc. But UD fans are awful. Only thing that beats them so far are White Sox fans.

You have never met bandwagon Red Sox fans, or seen them drunkenly invade your home stadium for that matter.

That, my friend, induces the most amount of hate for a fan that I have ever experienced.

Funny you say this since one of your best friends fits this description.

I know of quite a few Xavier fans much like myself that have the unfortunate problem of living in the Dayton area. So to say everyone who lives in Dayton is a ***** is just an ignorant statement. The city does suck but we can't all be so lucky as to live in Cincinnati.

this isn't meant just for you billy::p

while we may not like the dayton university team lets not get into overboard or personal type comments on this wonderful site. i lived in the dayton area from 1993 to 2002. my wife is from there and daughter was born there. i understand this is a smack board but some smack needs not apply to this site. this a new board and lets hope we can do some smack talk and still represent xavier in a good way.:)

Just a thought... If they closed Wright Patterson would Dayton just quietly fade away.

As much as I hate "UD basketball"/UD Fans I've had some good times partying there. Let me see...the Pine Club..and probably one of the more fun nights I ever had in college (I had a friend who went to UD); there was a big concert "the Freddy Jones Band" a pretty big band in the 90s. So I'm walking around the ghetto with a couple of guys , walk into a huge house party and of course immediately get in the keg line. Some smoking hot chick comes up to me and says "you guys were great tonight, I was so glad I got tickets")I had long flowing locks and rarely shaved)...well my deuschbagmeter goes off and I kindly thank her for the compliment and tell her we'll be playing at Bogarts next week in Cincy and then I become a bit aloof/turn around. Well within 20 minutes the 300 people at this party think (most importantly the 175 chicks) think I'm a rockstar. My GOD why did'nt I try to become a real rockstar when I was a kid. It was insane how women absolutely are magnetized to you when they think you are a famous musician/even minimally famous. Suffice to say i was able to grab several sets of boobages that night. I mean, I had to put forth absolutely zero game to get these chicks, hell, I barely said more than two words. So UD has that going for it.
