OK, so here's the background.
- My younger sister is pregnant
- After HS, she moved out of Cincinnati.
- She is still very good friends with many people from Cincinnati.
- Her baby shower is at my house.
- One of the invitees is one of her best friends from HS.
- This particular invitee has the last name Waleskowski.
- A simple google search reveals her husband to be named Keith, age 28, from Kettering, Ohio.

So my question....

Is it inappropriate to serve watermelon at the baby shower?

No in fact it would be most appropriate. What else would you expect a Walesmelonhumperski to eat at a baby shower? Melon that's what!

My brother commands you to serve watermelon and report back to us his reaction!

Also, leave 47 copies of David West's recent SI profile around the house.

Miller's Tale, any chance your house number is 4718?

Here's an idea.

Give away a watermelon as a door prize. Put Walekowski down on every slip of paper in the drawing.

Tale, I am guessing your sister is a SUA Bulldog?

I also think it would be appropriate to have a guess the "number of candy corns in the jar" game. Of course the number of corns in the jar would have to be 4718..

This far into the post, I thought this thread was heading in a much different direction.

I'm with you. 3 lines into this thing, I smelled a Jerry Springer show materializing.

College kids who hump watermelons...on the next Springer. I can picture it now:

"Baby, I didn't know that other melon was you cousin or I would have put my seeds in her."

"What? That's bullsh--! Yo seedless a$$ ain't do nothin' but wilt on the vine."

Punches get thrown. The crowd chants, "STEVE! STEVE! STEVE!" Security breaks it up.

"JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!"

Personally I think that this sounds like a great time to honor the memory of Pablo. I think you should have a watermelon themed shower. Watermelon dishes, watermelon napkins, watermelon flavored drinks, etc.

Just think about how much you are going to regret it, years down the line, if you don't do this. You may not get the chance again.

Seize the day!!!!!

I have a vision of a bowl of watermelon balls with tiny straw-sized holes taken out.

I wonder if both Pablo and Waleskoski went to school together. They were both from Alter in Kettering. Isn't that right? Was there some type of history there?

I think Pablo would be insulted if you did not serve watermellon...in fact I think you should do mellon balls inside the half watermellon, and call it "waterballs ala Pablo"....if you don't serve watermellon, you should turn in your degree....and all Xavier gear...

I know I am late to this, but you need to do one of two things.

The minute a Waleskowski walked into my home, I would kick them right in the junk. I am not a good host to dayton people. They suck.

Then, if they still hung around, I would serve 47 watermelons, saying things like "How did you get here? Did you to the WEST bound highway?" "You know, the weather coming in from the WEST looks like it's going to crush dayton"

Things like that. Over and over

and over.

Then kick him in the junk again.

Hopefully the Waleskowski GIRL does not have junk. But you never know.

would be quite gauche; the young lass is part of a very supportive Musketeer family & her bro was a star XU athlete in his sport of recent vintage includes setting A 10 record so cut her some slack

Her family can be seen regularly at XU games. With that in mind, wouldnt she be more able to get/handle the joke?

Thus my dilemma! She's a very nice young lady coming from a very nice family!

I think I'm cancelling the whole event. I haven't slept in days.

Did the shower ever occur and did you perform your Xavier required duties?

Still have some time - not for another month. Weighing my options, but it will no doubt be legend.....wait for it....ary.
