Applications are currently being accepted for tickets to the 2009 first and second round games to be played at UD arena. They aren't cheap ($208 per ticket, total of 6 games ). I'm counting on Xavier to return to a solid seed next year, and with that, to get to play in Dayton.

I would love to see so many X fans in UD arena that it's a home game for us in the NCAA's in Dayton next year. On the off chance we aren't there, it's a reasonable bet that UD arena will host some solid midwest teams in March. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be able to get my money back if XU doesn't happen to be there.

Applications are also being accepted for 2nd weekend and final four tickets at this time.

How long did it or will it take to sell out that arena? Dayton fans will pay anything to see a tournament game, especially one that is not the play-in game.

They'll take all applications and have a random draw. I should already have tickets because I have an "in", but I filled out an application anyway. I view it as a minor investment. If I can make enough back to cover the cost of the tickets and all of my beer/food for the weekend, I'll be happy. Any more and I'll do a dance of joy. Obviously if you don't get tickets, you get a refund.

Last time UD Arena played host to OSU, Georgetown, UNC, Michigan State, and of course, final four darling George Mason. It's a great two days of basketball regardless of who gets sent to play there.

It's cool that we'll have a chance to play so close to home, but at the same time it will SUCK to play in Dayton. Half the fun of going to watch the NCAA tournament live, is being able to enjoy the city. Over the years, I've had great times in places like Nashville, Atlanta, and DC. How much of a downer would it be to play in Dayton. Where would everyone pregame..... The BW3's?

If we play there, I will drive directly to the Piss Pot that is UD Arena, and then immediately drive back to Cincinnati after we whoop whom ever it is we play.

Isn't there a Fricker's close to the arena? Personally, I prefer that over BW3's.

There is a Wendy's across the street from the arena and that is the closest thing besides the bw3s.

Snipe, Kahn's, and I were talking about this on Tuesday, but just think, if Xavier is really good next year and get a protected seed, they could theoretically play the first two rounds in Dayton, the next two rounds in Indy, and the Final 4 in Detroit.

National Championship without more than a four hour drive from home.

Yep, about 5 minutes down Dixie highway. Grew up about a 3 minute walk from the place. Ate there three times a week, I'd guess.

When you say that you "Ate there three times a week" I hope it was only one week!!

They have to be the greasiest wings I have ever had!! (except Hooters maybe)

If that happens, I've got my ticket applications in for all three. It was an expensive day.

I've got my ticket applications in for the first two. I don't know why I don't pull the trigger on the third.

I haven't had frickers, but I can tell you that Roosters has the best wings. Hooters are very good too.

Are you kidding me? Hooters wings? They're at least 50% breading and the most overpriced wings on the planet.

The E has good wings. Rusty Bucket has some good wings. Tickets in Covington has some good wings. Hooters does not have good wings.

Like Chris Rock says, "Nobody goes to Hooters for wings."

95, go ahead and pull the trigger on the Final Four app. Most likely you're not going to get them (I think I'm 0-8), and if you do and don't go, that's your best profit chance anyway.

I think one brother owns Frickers and another brother owns Roosters. They just opened a Roosters on route 4 a few months ago. Nice place.
