Something's bugged me about John Groce for a while now - even when he was at Xavier - and I've finally got it. Having seen "Thank You For Smoking" recently, John Groce reminds me of Nick Naylor. Not Aaron Eckhart, the actor that portrays him, but the character himself: a smiling spin artist whose mastery of the art of wordplay is nigh-unparalleled. Now, the difference as I concern myself is this - Aaron Eckhart doesn't look necessarily shady. Groce's squinty eyes and sideways smile are quite frankly untrustable. It's amazing to me that he's as efficient a recruiter as he is, but of course, it's not exactly likely that he's preaching values and work ethic to his players. So here's to you John Groce - you're shady like I'm a prick, and that's a lot of shade.
