Xavier (14-3) vs. Temple (6-8)
Peter J. Liacouras Center (Philadelphia, Pa)
Wednesday, January 16, 2008
7:00 p.m. EST on the Fox Sports Ohio and heard on 700 WLW

The Setting:
Xavier travels to Philadelphia to take on the Temple Owls at the Peter J. Liacouras Center is a 10,224 seat stadium.

Last Week:
Xavier defeated Fordham in the 68-50. Xavier's defense did not allow a Fordham point for a little over six minutes during the contest. BJ Raymond hit five three point shots, scoring 20 points. Meanwhile, Temple, rallied from a double-digit deficit against Charlotte, before falling 60-58.

Previous Meeting:
Xavier and Temple last met on January 6, 2007. Stanley Burrell scored 21 points in the to pace Xavier to a 76-68 win over Temple in last year's Atlantic 10 opener for both squads.

Keys to the Game:
The Owls are paced by Guard's Dionte Christmas and Mark Tyndale who combine for approximately 35 points per game. Xavier must devise a plan to lock down both of these scoring threats, and force other players to take shots. Xavier must continue to get consistent play from the bench, and another superb game from Drew Lavender and Stanley Burrell.

The X-Factor:
Burrell is in the midst of transforming his game from spastic shooter, (Who hasn't seen him shoot with three players hanging off of him) to an everything man on the Court. His development into the latter will fill a huge hole in Xavier's conference lineup left my Justin Cage.
