MM Usernames at XH

I've already received a couple PMs about folks having their username taken during the transition over to this site. Since I think Muskie and I are democratic, how do you guys wish to have this handled?

Do you think we should return any requested usernames to those that had them previously over on MM? If so, how would you recommend we verify identities since we obviously will have no assistance in terms of email addresses, IPs from MM.

Alot of the posters on here are very familiar with each other. I'm sure people like PM Thor, and X-Band 01 could help you sort out who's who. Sorry to volunteer you, but you both seem to know who's who.

Part of the reason I never joined Rivals is "xeus" was taken.

Everyone does seem to be leaving MM en masse and it would be nice to keep continuity. I for one spent a lot of time over the summer trying to ferret out the personalities and various conflicts among the long-time posters. I'd hate to have to lose more work productivity to do that over again.

I don't see why anyone would want to steal someone's moniker anyway. I guess it could be funny if you knew each other, but I really don't see the humor. I think if you want everyone to switch over to this site, people would be more willing to switch if there is continuity in the names.

Xeus, I am shutting down the JC moniker and going back to Snipe. The only reason I switched was because of Griffin banning the moniker Snipe, any reference to Snipe, and even banning the word Snipe on Musketeer Madness. No more blasphemy from me. DC Muskie should be happy with that as well.

Ha! That would be a lesson in relativism. There are widely varied accounts just on the issue of how the boards turned over from one into another. If Kurosawa wanted to remake "Rashomon" he'd start at this place.
