I don't see gladdenguy here, so I assume it's okay to talk about such taboo subjects as point spreads and money lines. GoMuskies and Billy are here - we need wudman to make things complete.

Always one of my favorite topics. Not at all pleased with the glut of missed wide open shots in the Fordham game. Just one more bucket covers the 19 1/2 point spread.

That was frustrating.

Hooray for gambling!

Boo for my employer blocking gambling sites at the beginning of the year, and not allowing me to setup my evening parlays during work hours any longer.

Do you guys know of any such site that tracks gambling statistics.

The other night when we played Bonnies, the money line for Bonaventure was 10000. That is an ablosulte HUGE number. It got me wondering how often those types of lines are achieved.

I believe Covers does, as do a few others. But generally, they only have info on the point spreads. I'm not sure where you'd find an archive on cash lines.

I have no qualms in gambling discussion (don't know about Muskie). Folks that don't believe it is a gigantic part of the sports landscape are being beyond naive.

I am on a horrendous, horrendous losing streak, so I will post my plays so that you can fade them and become rich.

Did you happen to play Wazzou on Saturday, Go??

Just curious, because that was nearly a point spread mishap (mishap, because I was on the UCLA side) of biblical proportions.

No, but I had the Seahawks and the under, the Jags and the under and the Colts. Also had Ohio State, St. Bonaventure and Saint Louis.

That's an amazing 0-7-1 for the weekend.

Saint Louis blew the cover in OT? That's gross.

Would it be worth reminding people thought that if some serious gambling starts the moderators could be subpoenaed to provide info? I'm sure this is a long shot but in these litigious days disclaimers don't hurt.

Ummm...no.

Do we care if people mention point spreads? No... they're out there. Will we allow people to post information on finding bookie's and links to gambling sites. Probably not.

Everyone in my section was chuckling when I was begging Dante to put up a shot at the end of the game. THat fucking point spread will get you everytime.

You took the Seahawks and the under in Green Bay? No wonder you are on a losing streak. Take the Patriots and the over and Green Bay this upcoming weekend.

Not that my opinion is worth much, but I'd wait until later in the week before throwing action on the total considering the location of the two outdoor venues.

Extremely cold in both places.
Highs in the single digits.
Early forecast calls for little wind or precip though.

I will also wait until Sunday...but thats what I like early...and I havent missed a game in the playoffs yet (knock on wood, knock on wood).

ya, too many potential injuries to worry about in the NFL until at least wednesday, but thursday normally is a good day to know what is going on.

San Diego is banged up. Add to it they are playing on the road, coming in as a warm weather team, oh and they play one of the most formidable teams in history, and I don't see how anyone could bet on San Diego really.

Everything, everything points to them getting beaten, and beaten badly.
(Then again, no one had them beating Indy either though)

Early lines

NE -14 1/2; 49 o/u
GB - 7; 42 o/u

The Pats might not be a bad play, but it will be interesting to see if Rivers and/or LT are close to 100%. With the way Rivers is acting, the Pats may want to grind him into the ground to teach him a lesson.

GB -7 also looks pretty good.

New England laying 14.5 seems puny considering the Chargers injury situation. I might have me some of that.

I've found my way over here...user name on MM was wudman...but that was old and dated...decided to go with Nigel Tufnel over here for a new start.

Someone previously asked about a website to follow wagers....the best I have found is sportsinsights. You can sign up for free and it tracks wagers from a bunch of different gambling websites, so you can see the percentage of bets being placed on each team. For free membership, the stats are 20 minutes behind, but it is still a pretty decent indication of where the money/bets are going.

Don't think I'll be touching Xavier -8 tonight....one thing I've learned (the expensive way) is that road faves in conference play are a scary proposition.

I'm waiting to see what the Over/Under in the Dayton/Mass game is....if it isn't too high, I will probably be on the over. I watched UMass/St. Joe last weekend and UMass doesn't play a lot of defense....and with the way the Flyers shoot at home, I predict an up tempo, high scoring game.

Also looking at Miss -5.5 at home against Florida. I was impressed with Ole Miss @ Tenn last week.

BTW, nice forum.

drudy, just because I don't like giving the points, doesn't necessarily mean I'm going to take them either. Sometimes (ok most times), a no play is the way to go. Usually, if I'm going to take the dog, I have to think there is a pretty good shot they could win the game outright. Before the game, I wasn't sure how good of a shot Temple had at winning the game. I wasn't forecasting a Dionte Christmas fade away three point shooting clinic in the 2nd half....it happened. Glad I wasn't on it either way. Because at the time, it was a play on X or no play at all.
