Ha that's funny.. Olivari could really help this team out, Bronny is junk

Bronny's stats are pathetic. He's not an NBA caliber player. Regardless of how JJ Redick tries to spin it (he has to to stay in LeBron's good graces), the players know. JJ knows.
I applaud the actual current and past NBA guys that have come out and told the truth about the whole situation.

they gave Bronny a multi-year 5M deal, guaranteed.

The dream is to play in the NBA. I get it. I’ve heard G-League is starting to pay better but is a 2 way deal better (money wise) than going to play overseas? Have no idea.

From what I have read, I ascertain that the average two way player contract is about 75k give or take. I'd have to think at the top Euro Leagues (which I think Olivari would be a part of) he'd be making way more than that, plus I dunno if this is true or not, but from what I have heard those leagues take care of your housing.
Of course the carrot with the nba is that if you get the NBA rookie contract...that now sits at around a million guaranteed...way more than Euro leagues are going to pay.

but isnt a 2 way contract structured so you can go back and forth between the G-League and the NBA as many times and as often as needed? It used t be that if you had 2 10 day contracts the team had to give you an NBA deal or allow you to be a free agent immediately.
So the point of a 2 way contract is that a player is likely to be called up. I think there are a limited number of those.
And when they are "up" in the NBA they certainly arent making 75K a year. And if they dont get called up, well then they probably didnt get picked for one of those 2-way contracts.

I don't know about the up and down language, but yeah true if you get called up, you get the pro-rated nba salary. I think on average they may be on the NBA roster about 10-20 games of the season. So yeah i guess all-in you could be making a couple hundred k which obviously is great---I'd assume that's about what the top Euro leagues are paying? I have no idea.
Getting a little ahead of ourselves though...Q is only on one of the Exhibit 10 contracts for now...hopefully he does at least get a two-way from the lakers or someone else.

Good night for Q. Had a special moment with Curry he teared up talking about post game. He’s certainly winning over the fanbase, to no surprise. (At least from the handful of message boards I was browsing and social media)

Prior to last year the 2 way pay was low but starting last year they now make half of the NBA minimum which is about 570k

Lakers sign Q to a two way deal. Good for him. Absolutely made the most of his try out. Happy for him

Don't see where anyone has mentioned this, but Quincy Olivari scored 28 points on 7-15 from 3 in the South Bay Lakers season opener. Grabbed 10 boards and dished out 6 assists for good measure.
Compare that to his backcourt mate Bronny James who played 31 minutes, was 2-9 from the floor, scoring 6 points, grabbing 3 rebounds with 4 assists and 5 turnovers.
Olivari was a +16 in his 37 minutes compared to a -1 for James in his 31 minutes.

Speaking of Bronny, He's not playing away games.

What a joke. He should have never been drafted. But he was. Then they give him a 5M guaranteed deal, which is not typical for a 2nd round pick. Then he kind of sucked in the preseason, so they let him start the season with the Lakers. then they send him to the minors and he doesnt have to travel with the team?
Why doesn't the commissioner step in? cant he invoke some kind of "competitive integrity" clause on the lakers? they punish teams if they sit their stars because it impacts "competition", but they let a team run a guy out there that should be playing college at a mid-major right now?

They also activated him for last night's NBA game vs. the Griz. He took a DNP-CD, but I guess Lebron wanted to have him on the bench with him or something. Weird.

I don’t know why people care about it that much. LBJ is still the most polarizing player in the league. Lakers keep him happy with this? Smart. Frankly bronny sitting at the end of the bench is better for the Lakers development of potential rotational players (like Q).
People don’t care much about Giannis brother riding the bench in Milwaukee.

To me, there is a clear divide between a fringe nba type talent like Giannis brother and Lebron's son who imo doesn't even belong on a high D1 bench.

Somewhere out there, Lavar Ball is thinking he should have done the same thing for his kids when they were in college. Play only home games for UCLA (or wherever the hell they went otherwise).

Olivari didn't play last night, but he was on the active roster for the Lakers' win over Utah.
Also, he got 33 and 24 in his last two G-League games, and the 24 point game came with 9 assists. Unfortunately, he also turned the ball over 9(!) times in that game.

Gotta save a spot for Bronny, which is stupid.
Any guard on a developmental path within the Laker's organization has to want out. And it's a shame.
