View Full Version : College Basketball Season Extended to 22 Weeks Every Year

The calendar is changing again starting in 2025-2026. The Final Four will still be the first Saturday in April and the Championship Game will be the Monday after that, but we will now have a 22 week season (19 regular season weeks and 3 NCAA Tournament Weeks).

It's not THAT big of a deal, but I kind of think having regular season games before Halloween just feels a little ridiculous. That, and the spotlight on the sport really isn't that bright right out of the gate, so i think the earlier we start, the less attention is paid to the earlier part of the season. But....whatever...

Doesn't it just make it the 1st Monday in November every year now?

The answer is no you idiot! Every few years it will start at the very end of October.

Might be beneficial in that players can begin summer training sooner.
