Surprised I haven’t t seen it her yet, but Q signed a deal with the Lakers. I don’t know the technicals, but kind of a deal where he can play summer league and the team has an option to have him on a 2 way deal.

Maybe kinda like what Kunk and Boum had last year.

Congrats, Q!

I did a little bit of digging and what he signed was an Exhibit-10 contract which means he will be there for Summer league and sometime after to try and make the Lakers G league roster.

Good for him...either way he will be making some money playing basketball, but my guess is that it's more likely Europe...never know though, he could surprise.

He's probably competing for a spot against 'lil Bron, and he's not going to win that battle.

Even though he's a better player.

He will make good money playing basketball. There’s probably over 50 guys playing in Europe that could be in the nba right now. So much of it is about fit and timing. I still remember thinking Sato was a solid NBA guy. After looking into it a bit- he drew a lot of interest from NBA teams who wanted to sign him but he wanted guaranteed rotational minutes first.

But when digging into it that’s when I first realized how much guys in Europe make and I’m sure it’s even more now. I think Q will be just fine. Any other former X players you were surprised didn’t have a stint in the NBA? Tu comes to mind. While I wasn’t overly surprised, I thought he was better than Butler guard Shelvin Mack who made 17 million in the NBA. That’s where the timing/fit thing comes into play I guess

I think when it comes to NBA vs Europe, it’s a little more complicated.

Sure the Europe guys make great money….compared to us. But the potential jackpot that comes with that 2nd NBA deal is a difference maker.

I guess if you are a fringe NBA guy that will likely be on a series of minimum deals then it does makes sense to at least be the “guy” in Europe somewhere and also get paid well. That describes a lot of our guys.

Either way, I don’t know Naji’s contract stautus, but I think he’ll be a free agent this year or next. He’s a solid rotation player, but not started quality. He can still get 40+M over 3 years or something crazy like that.

Oh yeah, by all means it’s not the same. Again I was pretty naive about it so was surprised and didn’t realize at the time the top guys still make millions of dollars a year.
