The Basketball Tournament (TBT) and Team Zip 'Em Up have been a great excuse to have a little July Xavier basketball fun. Seeing BJ Raymond hit a 3 was awesome. JP's been a bit injury prone, but his presence is huge but it's been great to see him and Trevon on court together.
This year, UC hosts. I got my ticket but feel dirty registering on their ticket site (link (https://gobearcats.evenue.net/events/TBT)). Maybe having a UC ticket account will boost my ability later to get a ticket to the Shootout.
I won't start it here, but I'm sure that the NIL/portal will eventually have an effect on TBT too.

I understand completely. I had to create a UCATS account last year so a vendor could electronically send me 2 tickets to a suite they had booked for the Crosstown Shootout. Now, I get emails from UC about tickets to all kind of events. I don’t want to delete it in case the vendor wants to invite me to the Shootout at UC in the future.

Ticket prices keep going up, and the product seems to get worse. I know alot of people that will not be buying TBT this year.

Yes, I was surprised ticket prices went up so much given the attendance at XU last year. Maybe UC expects more from their fans. Last year I bought all session tickets by this time. This year I only bought tickets for the first XU session (second actual session) because
1. Some of the Zip em up players did not seem to care too much and were not in good shape.
2. Some of the Zip em up players seemed to be think they were MUCH better than they actually were (maybe due to age) and were hogging the ball while more capable players did not get enough PT and ball touches.
3. The increase in prices.
4. If ZEU loses, it is not that interesting.

I don't mind if the older players are out of shape if they stay mostly on the bench. I expect more from the younger players and/or players getting a lot of PT.
