The site went live today. It was announced that tomorrow is the first day for seat selections. If I'm interpreting the dots correctly it appears that the majority of seats in sections 215 and 216 are unavailable in addition to another 216 seats randomly placed throughout the arena.

I see almost everything available except the student section and the top of 215. I think those are held out for the visiting team.

Go to goxavier.com and login to your ticket account. You’ll see the seat selection process link at the top of the right column.

Now I can start my daily worrying about my seats, or other seats I’d like, getting taken before I can make my selection. .

If you expand the view you'll notice some areas that are shaded a little darker green. When you click on those locations you will find seats with red dots (I'm assuming red dots indicate those seats are unavailable).

Yep, the seats I had in section 103 were gone yesterday before the selection started. I called and asked ,the response, they have been taken for team use. It is what it is, I’m hoping for decent opportunities when I choose.

If you're trying to figure out how many seats will be gone (not where obviously but how many) by the time you pick, I have been told on average each account selects 3 seats. So however many are in front of you x3 is the rough estimate.

Just curious ,not being able to buy/use tickets being so far away.
If you are a season ticket holder, they don't give you the opportunity to have the same seat the next year?

Yes in normal years you can renew your tickets.

This year (the first time since 2017) they are doing a brand new reseating of all tickets due to off season construction that is changing the layout and number of seats.

Every account is given a number in line and assigned a date and time to get on to purchase their seats. Your order is based on the number of points you have which is based on numerous factors including season ticket length and donations etc.

I’ve heard the same thing, though I think most people have 2 or 4. Based on that, over 2,400 will be gone before I get to choose.

I sure hope lower level is still open by the time I pick. Once you go low, it's a tough pill to swallow to go back up top (which I probably wouldn't do).

I tend to agree with you. If I can’t get in the area I want, I’m not going to take seats I don’t want. When do you pick?

Can’t see that working. You’d have a lot of people wanting the same seats and you’d have to constantly check in case your choice was taken by someone else.

Sure. But just like fantasy football, most people who put their account on "auto-pick" would be pissed off at the seats they were assigned.

How do the points work? When we re-seated a few years ago, did the points start over? Or is this year's points total based on what you have done throughout the time you have been affiliated with Xavier?

I buy my seats through a relative, and we select Thursday 5/9 at 3 pm, which based on the posts above, sounds like a pretty good time slot.

I thought I read somewhere the point totals re-set to 0 after the last re-seating process. But I could be wrong.

Anyone out here with seats in the lower bowl yellow sections (101, 102, 103, 104, 114)? Thinking about those areas, one of the top rows in those sections. Any likes or dislikes about those areas?

Sat in Row H. 9 rows off the court. Loved the seats, sat by some great people. If we couldn’t use a ticket (s) we would just offer them to each other, no charge. Allowed me to bring grandkids etc. they picked yesterday, I don’t pick until the 17th hoping I can stay close to where I was. Three and a half rows where I was have been taken for team use. But yes the view from 103 is fine, hoped this helped.

I'm about 75% of the way up in 104, but I don't pick for 2 weeks. By the looks of things, those seats are going to be gone by then.

104 is a great section. I think it's one of the best value seats in the house. I'm not directly behind the basket (catty corner), but I've never thought "I'm missing action because of the basketball goal taking away my view". It's in the lower bowl with a great view, and cheaper because of the end zone.

Or I could say "it's a terrible section" so you don't steal MY seat.

My first move to the lower bowl was 102 next to the tunnel … just a few rows up. I missed some 3’s being blocked by the basket, but it was great hearing the bigs banging down low and hearing the refs keeping everyone in check. Great view of JP and YTG going at it and seeing Cronin’s face exiting the tunnel.

Sat in row 3 of 104. For awhile it was great but the hoop did get in the way a bit. You get used to it. We moved to first row upper bowl last reseating and will never go back. View is great, no one infront of you- quick in and out to get to concessions and restrooms. Honestly surprised they aren’t more coveted seats but I’m not complaining.

One annoying element is having to kick students out of your seats. Once the student section fills up they try to find seats in that section. it is especially funny to watch when it is a group of like 8 of them thinking they will find seats together when the game is sold out.

Some side benefits sitting in this section, we had ‘front row’ seats to the fight and JP trash talking the gnome. However do not expect much in the way of balls or t-shirt tosses as most go toward the student and somewhat limited because of the visiting team huddled in the area.

I selected this morning at 10, and now am in 106. I was in 105 behind the bench, and preferred being across from them rather than behind them. We are a couple rows further back, and closer to the corner than we were in 105, but otherwise they look great.

bjf123
05-13-2024, 11:31 AM
I picked at 10:15. There was still one aisle choice available in Section 105, but it was closer to the floor than my prior seats in that section. Having a seat on the aisle was an absolute must. Being closer moved it up from the yellow price point to red. I figured if I was going to have to pay more, I wanted to get closer to the floor. I’m now in Section 114, but only 8 rows from the floor. Should be interesting being right next to the student section.

The upside is I’m closer to the exit at the end of the game. The downside is it’s a long walk to the Quatman’s concession stand, which I tend to have for dinner before the 6:30 tip offs.

Prior to the last reseating, we consolidated the tickets into 2 accounts with the most points. Over the next couple of years we added 3 additional tickets as they became open around us. Each year we would adjust donations to make sure the accounts had similar point values.

So we had two time slots today, one at 12:45pm and one at 1:25pm.

I have heard 5-7 years on average. Which seems pretty unnecessary. No one asked for this new club, so they're pouring money into something no one asked for and to be honest doesn't have many perks as it is to intrigue many people to buy the seats there.

I think it will be kinda cool. (The club). I give the athletic department a lot of credit for the upgrades Cintas has made over the years. Hard to believe it’s 20 years old. The renovations have been very good overall. (Incoming complaint about phone service). Unfortunately with some of the upgrades seats get taken out (or added) and it’s only fair to do a reseating then

I spoke with the guy in the ticket office who sat with us where our new seats are. He said it will likely be at least 10 years. When I asked him why they do this (e.g. for additional revenue?), he said they only do this when they make a change to the setup that eliminates some seats. The implication is that unless there are more changes, we shouldn't have another reseating.

The ticket office guy who toured us when we went to consider where we'd buy said this is a new reality and essentially there will be a need for updates every 5-7-10 years. He mentioned (I believe it was) the lookout changing in the future and that causing a reseating.

We shall see I guess.

Good way to goose donations if you are basing the seats on how much someone donates.

Yeah as soon as I asked why I knew. Just wondered if they put a different reason out there.

Just made my selection, I’m still in 104 row R but I had to move by the aisle next to 102, I was on the aisle in the middle,of 104.

Looks like after you make your choice you can’t go back in and see how things are going.

I know......not really crazy about that feature. I don't know if they're trying to reduce traffic on the site because of a concern over insufficient bandwidth but other that that I can't think of any other ideas why they would lock us out.

Agreed. I’m curious to see how seats are disappearing.

I already know my seat officially disappeared on Tuesday.

Elsewhere, 110 is all gone and just about 80% of the lower bowl sidelines are also gone. I'll likely go for an endzone seat in 101 and 102 if they're still available in 2 weeks.

74 seats left in 104.

It's not part of the re-seating process per se, but if you want to look at the 3D Cintas Center seating (it won't show which seats have been taken), you can click (here (https://www.seats3d.com/ncaa/xavier_university/basketball/)).

Whelp, seats taken 18 hours before I picked. For the first time since the Cintas opened I'll be sitting somewhere different. Boo.

Ended up in 102 - once section over. A bit more behind the goal than I wanted, but I guess I'll keep an open mind.

Pretty slim pickings left in the lower level.

I'll be in Section 107, Row R - it's almost a mirror image of where I sat in 108 for the past two seasons. I had a morning timeslot, but ended up picking at home due to work commitments today.

From what I saw on the seating website, there are approximately 200 seats left in the lower bowl and the upper sidelines are also going pretty fast. I have little doubt that we may actually sell out all the season tickets when all is said and done.

Sections 105, 108, 110 and 112 are completely sold out already. Even The Lookout area above the student section had less than 10 seats remaining.

At least we’re not like Butler, and I think Marquette, who reseat EVERY year!

You'd actually improve your seat at Butler at the rate they're probably selling tickets nowadays. Not getting a vibe from them that they're going to have a breakout year. Marquette is another story, although they're paying through the roof as it is in a world-class NBA arena (not to mention Shaka's contract).

Wow considering it’s almost 30 days out from the start, think you would be somewhat satisfied? Especially with only 200 left in the lower bowl. Congrats if you are.

Does anyone know how many season tickets they’ll allow to be sold? I know they don’t sell everything.

I was prepared to buy a seat in the endzone if it was available - then saw that there were a handful of seats left in 107 last night. Definitely feel lucky AF here. There's still another month of reseating left to go.

They already have the corners in 215/216 reserved for visiting fans, but I don't know offhand what other seats are saved for 6-pack/4-pack seats. There will probably be a handful of single-game tickets remaining come September/October.

I believe the season ticket sellout number is either 8200 or 8400.

Marquette and Butler really make you re-seat every year? What's the rationale? That would drive me nuts as a season ticket holder.

Butler is a poverty program, so anything that raises some revenue probably makes sense for them to do.

They should place a statue of Brad Stevens in front of the zeppelin hanger. Imagine where they would be without him. I guess being near the basement of the BE is better than being stuck in the Horizon League.

You would think it would backfire at some point. Just raise ticket prices.

More like stuck in the A-10 with or without Dayton.

I can be almost positive that I'll love my new seats, because they're the seats that I was in for years and lost during the last reseat.

So, as long as I'm not surrounded by a-holes this time around, I know I'll be good. :)

I like my new seat better than my old one, so there's that.

Is the new open area suite and standing room bar really going to generate more revenue? It seems....the same.

I did notice they added some court-side seats by taking out some notches of the scorer's table.

I like my new seats better, too. Maybe the only thing better would have been the other end of the aisle which would be a little closer to the baseline. I did get a Skyline parachute drop. Never got even close to one at my previous seats. I might need to get a pair of earplugs. We’re right next to the student section and they’re a little loud, as they should be.

We are now in 104 Row A, the view is awesome, but there is one major problem that I am wondering if some of the other baseline row A seats face. The seats on the floor in front of us are too far back and there is not a normal amount of room for our knees. I had people with me last night ranging from 5'9-6'2 and all of our knees were hitting the seats in front. It's pretty unreal. My dad is the account holder and wasn't there but he's going to be pissed if they don't/can't/won't move them forward a few to 6 inches to give a normal amount of room. I could not lean back in my seat, had to be completely straight up or leaning forward for me knees to fit.

The seats that are on the floor? They won’t move em forward. They maximize walking area between those chairs and the floor, especially if they have waitresses for courtside seats

Not actually on the court. The floor seats in the corner where recruits and/or former players sometimes sit.

My dad actually went to the ticket office today. The young guy came out to meet him and looked like he was having a rough day my dad asked him if they were getting a lot of calls and he sheepishly smiled and said yes. Anyway my dad showed him the picture I took of our knees hitting the chairs as we sat The guy was very nice and said that definitely wasn't acceptable and they were having a meeting today to discuss various issues and asked to be sent the picture and they would address it.

I guess we will see Friday....

They moved the seats forward and this is not an issue anymore. Great job by the ticket office at listening to concerns and addressing them immediately. Not sure if the parking was any better (I wasn't able to go tonight) but I know they at least tried to make it better and they totally fixed our seating issue. Great job X.
